Once I logged on, I got a notification that a script was trying to install xxx toolbar.
Don't go
here.http://install.xxxtoolbar.com/ist/ ... 1069105025
I stopped it and was wondering if it was related to the new ads.
I mean the large ads on the main site.

Impossible. There are no ads on the forum.

You could have gotten it from another site.
I mean....for the longest time, I thought Gaia gave me aurora.exe But I use Gaia all the time and I've never had a problem except that one time. It didn't make sense. I must have gotten it from a lyrics database.
Same with PPT. I've been visiting this site and forums for years and I've never had reason to believe I was zapped with spyware here.

*goes anyway* It's amazing what you can do with Linux. *evil laugh*
Are you sure it's not from Neo? A lot of people are complaining about spyware from Neo's ads.

I'm absolutely sure it happened here. I had no other pages open, and as soon as I logged on, avast blocked that script on the page.

I have avast and I logged on here and nothing popped up. It's probably some spyware or something previously downloaded that's acting up now. I dunno, I was never good with computers.
But yeah, there's no ads on the forums. Did you go to PPT's main page and then the forums? That used to make things pop up for me.

I'm sorry about the wording in the first post, I meant that maybe whatever ppt is using for hosting has to do with the script and the large ads on the main page(no popups).
I had no spyware on my computer at the time. I use CounterSpy. Also, I went to the forums first, with no other windows open.

I got some from the ads on the main page once, and I also got trojans there. Of course, it most likely came from something else. Also, I was using IE at the time. Stupid, I know.
