Back in the Old Days - What Do You Remember?

Thu Jul 01, 2004 1:29 pm

Before the forum went down, plans were underfoot to create a PPT yearbook, hence there were threads about past ppt. There were simply too many great memories that were too good to be forgotton so many of us wanted them recorded down into something official.

The yearbook was on hold, but now that I'm free again, I'll start the project again. In this thread, post screenshots, stories, events that occured that stuck in your mind. Funny moments, sad moments, moments of testing, what PPT means to you.

As long as a user puts effort into his/her post in this thread, there will be no reason to exclude the entry for the year book.

You may use this thread for discussion (I will gather up all the posts later on), however, if you wish to make a page entry just for yourself as well, please dedicate one post in this thread for your entry you wish to submit into the year book. Signal that this is the post by enlarging the font at the top of the post and write "OFFICIAL ENTRY"

I'll update this post as we go along :)

Let me the first to post. I remember Rageaholic creating a stuffed animal play with most of the mods on PPT. That definately deserves to be in. If anyone has more details (Rageaholic) please add them.

I remember when Hunter was in the chatbox, and he changed the little title about every five minutes. Once, he spelt bizarre wrong, too.

Once in the chatbox, somebody was "mysteriously" kicking random people and nobody could figure out which mod was doing it.

The April Fool's Day joke, where some posts were converted into 1337, and where the moderators were clones. Half of the people thought it was funny, the other half not (including me).

Don't forget the Spammish ranks (Beyond Spammy *giggles*) and the filters ("According to the prophecy...")

That was fun! :D

Oh that rocked! ^__^
The filters were really hilarious...

I still have all the clone avs saved in case anyone wants them.

Darn. I should've thought of that.

How can you forget the filters?

The filters were awesome.

OFFICIAL ENTRY

My memory is that back when we had to vote mods in, Bob asked us to UN-vote him. A week or so later, he was an admin.

Official Entry

Back in December, when my uncle had a heart attack, I had to sit in the hospital every day waiting for news on him, try and comfort my cousin, but as soon as I got back to my grandmother's house every night, I could get on PPT, and everyone there was friendly, and those that knew about my uncle cared enough to say something in my thread about him. Thanks to PPT, Christmas 2003 turned out to be better than the circumstances would have ever allowed.

Will we be able to mention anything about past roleplays like Kingdom Sakura?

I didn't find it funny when I was forced to use a screenshot of my Post a reply screen(To get around the filter on Neopoints) on that day because I had gloat that day which had the word Neopoints in it which stupidly filtered to something I would consider distasteful by the filters. Of course I edited my post once PPT had returned to normal and got rid of the screenshot that never should happened.

If my memory serves me right during that time with the fliters.

Darigan= My classmate next to me.

Unfortunately I can't remember any of the others.

Wasn't "Neopoints" changed to mail-order brides? Heh heh... That was my fault. :D

What about the day when Steph and Jenn met each other? :) They were the first PPTers I think to meet in real life.
