I've having problems with my siganture.

Wed May 17, 2006 10:41 pm

So, I type this code into my siganture.

Code:
[img]http://tinyurl.com/hrsm8[/img]

The image isn't showing up. All I see is the text, exactly like it appears in the code box above.

I tested that link and this is what I was re-routed to this page: http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:P ... way/38.jpg

and I got a smaller version of this image:

Image

If that's the image you want, it's way too big to be a signature on PPT, but you could have someone make it into a signature HERE!

Thanks! =) In the meantime, I'm using the smaller one.

In all actuality, the link wouldn't have worked even if it was within the limits. When you use the [img][/img] tags, the extension must be *.jpg, *.gif, or *.png.

I think *.bmp doesn't work, but if there is no extension, it definitely won't work. Use a <img src=""> tag instead in this case.

You can also use TinyPic to make short URLs for images.
There isn't really a reason to use either tinypic or tinyurl here, though - image URLs do not count against your signature character limit.

Yeah, if you use the <img> link instead of [img] for TinyURL, that works. I used to do that until HTML wasn't allowed here for a while, and then I discovered TinyPic.

image URLs do not count against your signature character limit.

Really? I've found that using TinyPic/TinyURL gives me more space.

Same here. I used to use Photobucket links when I wanted to put a bunch of stuff in my signature. Those were long and I kept getting the "not enough characters" error so I tried switching to TinyPic... everything fit fine.

Yup. Infact, if it wasn't for TinyPic/TinyURL, I wouldn't be able to use my little button. *petpet*

The little button you stole from me, edited it and didn't credit. at all.

Tell that to Anoohilator. It was him first, so I thought it was OK.

Try it again sometime -- it'll work as I described (granted that you're using [img] tags). 8)

That doesn't really change the fact that you know Paul made it now and you're still not crediting...

Sun May 21, 2006 4:24 pm

I didn't think about it... Plus, I didn't get the time to change it. The 19th, I was busy, the 20th...I don't know my reasoning there.
Alright, fine. I've credited...

Wait, no, I didn't. Never mind. o_o;;

Plus, I just thought of this. When you're trying to burn Paul, crediting him just...cancels it out.

I'll make my own... :P

Real mature, DM, what I always expect. :D

 The squabbling on images and burning people or whatever ends here. I suggest taking it somewhere else if you really have to continue it.

Since it has gone off-topic and the question has been answered, I'll go ahead and lock it.
