I was just wondering about whether there could be a 'Gloat and Cry' sticky in Misc. Discussion.

I mean, we have one for neopets, why not one for real life Gloats and Crys? :)

(In my opinion..) Because it would potentially kill off alot of the boards in misc discussion? I mean, say, your hamster died, you're likely to post it in Misc disc, right? Well, it wouldn't be nice if you just had to be bound to one small topic when there's other people who might have more serious cries who get more attention.

Besides, the reason one for it being is because, well, General Chat is a huge board. Alot more visitors than misc disc, and if everyone posted a board for a small gloat, say, a blumaroo jumped pass in an random event, it'd be grossly spammed, eh?

This has been asked again and again, and each time it's been declared a 'no'. Yes, there are some more serious 'cries', like dead pets, family getting the flu, etc. that can't be pushed off to the side as easily as a Kadoatie RE that makes you lose 5000 NP. Plus, many of those threads are asking for advice and can spawn a discussion, unlike the Neopets ones which are usually whining. It's also why frozen accounts can get their own topics: it's too serious for the sticky. As for gloats, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. get their own topic because people like to congradulate people on these things. As for more minor gloats, such as finding a penny on the street, they're just spam, even if they were in a sticky since, well...everyone here probably has at least one cent (unless you're not American, in which case you have one of whatever your local currency is).

That was probably a bit more lengthy than it had to be, but hopefully you get the drift.

I actually remember that there was one at one point. It got a few pages, then it just died.

I agree with DiscordantNote. I mean, how would you feel if you made a thread saying something like "My mom died" and it was locked because it was 'in the wrong topic?' It's different for misc. discussion. A lot of the threads are about gloating or crying anyways.

Oh, right...well, I was just thinking, y'know, for small things like 'I found 2p on the floor today' and stuff. But, oh well :) Sorry to bother you, lol (in a non-sarcastic sense ;))
