Because we have already proven that we are more than competent at the English language and we're trustworthy. And if we make a mistake, Yoshi can beat us to a pulp using The Stick™ And I believe that almost all of us had 1000+ posts in the old forum. Especially those who were members of CCC/ASP

Few comments to make on that...

First of all.. You have an editor. Which may make it seem like we're all error-free.. but that's what editors are for, no? Not that you haven't mastered the English language, Ixi, just making a point. ;P

Second of all.. PI has nothing to do with newsposting. They're two totally different things. Newsposting is more on-the-spot than PI is.

I talked with SL about it, and he agreed with me on the fact that PI has nothing to do with newsposting. Sorry, no extra bonuses. You'll just have to work for it the old-fashioned way.

And I was only kidding about bonuses for us PI'ers. It just I think 1000 posts is a bit steep as some people may be very active and have the best posts on the forum (and I'm most definately NOT referring to me *looks back at his posts that look like they were written by an ant with the mental capacity of a grain of sand*) but their post count could only be 600. So what would you rather have? A steady stream of quality posts or... Atruckloadofmessyspammypoststhatarequicklythrowntogetherinordertogettheirpostcountsup?

The whole point of this is not to have a high post count, but to have a good news poster. Someone who will be around to do the job, and not just write one article and dissapear. Savvy?

Yes, but I want to point something out and I will use both me and inrun.

I've been around on THIS forum for about the same time as you and I have a MUCH lower post count. And why? Because I only go to some boards and some topics and this hinders my post count. And I'm sure there is not one person on these forums who takes a personal interest in every single one of the boards and topics in the forum. So this 1000 posts minimum is basically telling people who only go to topics they're interested in to shove off as they aren't wanted. And I personally don't want to be a news poster but I think that the minimum post count is really unfair to those who would be fantastic at news posting and are very active but they haven't been on the forums long enough to achieve 1000 posts. So, I've said my piece and I will back off from this topic because it is really starting to cheese me off.

I think that its a great idea and gives everyone a fair shot at helping the site out. Personally I agree with the 1000 post rule because at the end of the day you have to set the limit somewhere, if the limit was set at 600 then people with only 500 posts, then if you lowered it to 500 all the 400 post people would be angry etc etc.

Plus, if I understand correctly you can apply for this at any time you reach the requirements its not like you only have a week to build up your posts. It gives you a goal to work towards!!

Maybe you should change the title SL? It's a tad misleading. Must say, I was a bit disappointed at the post limit as the fact that I don't play Neopets hinders how many boards I can post on.

It's still a very good idea however. I'd definately apply for PPT news if my post count was high enough.

Well, if you don't play Neopets, then why would you want to become a news poster? I mean, most of the time it is Neopets news which would need to be posted.
