I was wondering, would it be possible to have a feature where you can block a particular poster's posts and not have to see them? It's possible for a person can get kind of spammy without breaking the rules enough to be banned from the forum. In that case it would be nice to be able to block them.

*nods* It'd be quite a nice feature to have within the forums.

And when I say respect, I mean respect their right to have their say just as you have the right to yours. If at any point you think what a member is saying may be out of line, you should contact a Moderator and have them look into it for you.

If you're having a problem with someone on the site, please PM a staff member about it. It's our job to help sort things out.

Hm, another forum I go to has this feature ... so I'm fairly sure there's a phpBB mod for it around.

I've never used it, though *shrugs* It's not toooooo hard to just skim past posts, though they can clutter up the thread a bit if you're looking for something in particular.

Yeah, but if someone technically isn't doing anything wrong--if their posts simply rub you the wrong way--what can a staff member do? There's also the feeling you get, that bringing your problems with a particular member to a staff member's attention feels rather petty. Or maybe only the neurotics like me get that feeling.
An "ignore" option would be nice, but I'm willing to put up with the one or two people who annoy me for the many people whose posts entertain me.

Honestly, I see only one option.
Live with it.

You will always have to deal with people that you do not like, but there's nothing you can do about it. If someone is doing something wrong, you should tell the mods. Otherwise, just live with it. Think about how disorganised topics would be if you could randomly block people's posts? You would get the same points over and over.
It just would not be a good idea.

When I see his posts, I fill with righteous rage. :D

I don't see a problem with that. I don't see a need. o_0
Just bear with it. If you seriously cannot stand them, PM a mod. Simple as that.
*Agrees with ^*

Nice but to be honest I feel un-needed. Unfortunately in life you have to learn to get along with people, if they bother you I would suggest scrolling down just that bit more and not reading what they've said. However there may be a time when said person has a valid point or opinion, and it may be useful to have them unblocked. If they were ever quoted on the forums you'd be seeing their quotes anyways. It is hard to truly 'block' someone out on forums.
And please don't feel that it's petty to bring things to our attention. This is our job on the forums, this is what we do. Honestly I don't know of a single staff member who doesn't want to help or who isn't there to be talked too.
I do understand how you feel about needing to get away from certain people, but at this point on forums like this I simply don't see it as a viable option.
