... which allows you to mark all topics as read? I wish there was such a function because there are some posts which I can't be bothered to read but then I don't want that particular board to be marked with an orange 'unread' sign.

There's a 'Mark all forums read' text link just above the 'Who is online' box. Is that what you're referring to?

Each board also has its own "Mark all topics read" under where it shows the pages of the board. Or you could just look to the far, far right of the name of the board you're on. For example...

<new topic button> PPT Forum Index -> General Chat (to the farthest right of this)
