Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

Yeah, I feel your pain. I think I can honestly say PPT has just around 15 people that actually take RPing very seriously. There are more that RP here, but very few join an RP and take posting there as a true duty, like a job. I'm one of them. Whenever I log on, I always visit the RP board first. I don't always post there first, but it's the first place I go. I wish more people were like that... nowadays it takes, like, two weeks to fill up an RP with five slots open.
But you can't force anybody to do something they don't want to do. Unfortunately.

The forums were switched recently and all old role plays were lost. Previously there were about two pages of role plays and everyday I logged on there would be a page's worth of new posts, at least one per role play. With role plays lost, it's a little discouraging to try and start it up again, particularly since one has to reorganise everyone and work out how to 'continue' the story.
A lot of people are also on holiday now, which means they have limited, if any, internet access. Additionally, there are time zones as have been mentioned. There are two main time zones in the role play board, what I call "America" and "Asia". The "America" one consists of those in North America and thereabouts to all post around the same time while those in "Asia" are asleep. When "America" goes to bed, "Asia" goes to post.
Role playing isn't everyone's cup of tea. I never even dreamed of it when I first joined the forums. It simply wasn't my type of thing to do. Now I role play, although less than I used to. (I was in about 20 role plays at one point.) I'm more picky about what I join and who I role play with.
The rules of the board are extensive compared to other boards. Not everyone is willing to read through them, which means they aren't willing to make the commitment that is required in role playing. Role playing requires a good deal of time and commitment - time and commitment people don't always have because of school, work and social life. A lot of the "old school" role players are growing up and have exams and college to think about. The new (and often younger) role players need the time and practice to role play and make mistakes. People don't usually start out brilliantly and there's always room to improve. Some people don't always remember that everyone role plays differently, so may criticise too harshly.
Basically, these forums aren't hard-core role playing. It's a hobby and something that some people like to do. Checking once a day should be quite enough for role playing here.

Heh... This topic made me start a roleplay, but it's closed now...
Anyways, Gaia is a good place to roleplay :3

I used to roleplay on the old forums. I haven't really been able too. I reached god because of it. Waah! XD (I'm starting out in Ali's RP. Always wanted to be in it.)

A lot of the classic rpers have left. Old ppt used to have over 2 dozen good rpers. Some left for good, others vacation, other need to concentrate on otehr things. And I agree with Lillie, most of it was hobby and fun until the crash.

As has been stated, many of PPT's top RPers have left. Others, have simply stopped RPing here (I have, though I don't really think I'm a 'top RPer'... >_>), or just stopped altogether, for various reasons.

Well, I did start to role play again but I couldn't keep up with the Turies RP, but I was a Side Character and I haden't really to start until later on in it. But I just checked it there and I saw Erre Ledia was back up, so I am just writing out my bio for that.

Or, they left because they were without internet access for almost a year...
(Why is everybody looking at me like that!? It wasn't my fault, and I'm back, ain't I?)
