About usual for me. I overtax my computer a little too much, I guess.
My computer would freeze. It gives me jip when I try and do 6 windows..
My computer gives me heck when I open 3 or more windows.
Currently I have 2 open.

Only four currently today, this topic, PPT Index, realplayer, and another internet site. Though five mins ago I had in excess of 20 windows open.

One for Shop Wizard, one for shop, one on PPT, one on Pokemo Zeo, one on Pokeschool and one on Paint Shop Pro.
Of course, this is the typical 1:00 AM window-opens.

currently, I have PPT forums, Livejournal, Msn Messenger conversation, Semagic (LiveJournal client), and Zelda Fan Game Central.

I usually have enough to fill the row. When I get something else that would give me a second line, I try to find something to gclose out of. 
At the moment, I have 13 windows open:
2 for my forum (regular forum & admin panel, http://www.lost-thoughts.net/fantasybits/index.php )
6 Neopets windows because I was restocking
2 PPT windows
1 MS Works document
1 IM chat
1 page with a pic I want to show Tim when he gets home
All that, and this is a slow time. I usually have more IMs and chats and some other type of program or game/website (like KoL, http://www.kingdomofloathing.com or LiveJournal) open.
I like to multi-task.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto. I know I should have closed it when I went on the interent, but you can't save half-way through a mission and I'm on this base-building one and...ok, ahem.

One. Lately I've started having two open at a time though, three if I pop on AIM and someone manages to IM me before I sign off. (Not counting the buddy list.)
