Andrew WK had 3 singles and they are almost the exact same song just with different lyrics.
The other 2 are called She is beautiful and We want fun.

One/two hits wonders I like :

Merideth Brooks - B****
Crazy town - Butterfly/revolving door
Eagle eye cherry - Save tonight/falling in love
Green jelly - 3 little pigs hehehe
Marcy playgound - S** and candy
Deep blue something - Breakfast at Tiffany's
Len - Steal my sunshine
OMC - How bizzare
Nena - 99 red balloons

Oh I loved those songs. I have the single of 3 little pigs, but it was before Green Jelly changed their name, so the name on the tape is Green Jello.

I wish these guys would not have been one hit wonders either:

Shakespeares Sister: Stay
Vertical Horizon: Everything You Want
Jann Arden: Insensitive
Better Than Ezra: Good
Lit: My Own Worst Enemy
Orgy: Blue Monday (although that one was a cover)
House of Pain: Jump Around

Two Hit wonder:
Toad The Wet Sprocket: Walk on the Ocean and All I Want

Should have:
The Monkees,
Micheal Jackson &
The Eagles

Shouldn't:
Twisted Sister (everyone says they're 1 hit wonder but they've had more than 1)
Quiet Riot (Same thing)

nooooo!!! Not the Monkees!! But I do agree with you on the Eagles part. Only because Don Henley was really rude when he came to my high school.

On a weird note, Quiet Riot was the only group I was not allowed to listen to when I was younger. Because of the title of one of their songs, my mom banned my sisters and I from listening to them. But sometimes my sisters would walk me home from school and they would bring their radio and we'd listen to them on the way home.

Another weird note, the guy who plays the dad in most of the Twisted Sister videos is from my hometown.

What about Purple Haze, Hey Joe, Voodoo Child, Foxy Lady, Manic Depression, and May This Be Love?

Mm, anyone remember the Bloodhound Gang with their song "The Bad Touch", aka the Discovery Channel song where the Gang jumped around in monkey suits in the music video? :P Rather...inappropriate, but hey, that was their only real hit (even though they came out with two more albums after that one).

heh, and I just listened to that cd not 20 minutes ago.

Man I feel like going through all my old tapes lol

Most famous one hit wonder ever:
"Hey Mickey" by Toni Basil

In my opinion it was the creepiness of the video that scared everyone off...

I loved that song. I still remember parts from the video.

Anyone remember Robin/Robyn and Billy (Both girls). Robin/Robyn had the song, "Do you know what it takes to love me?" and another hit single. And there was a song on her second CD called, "Electric".

Billy had the song, "Because he wants too" (I think that's the name). It went like,

Quote:
Why gotta play that song so loud?
Because he wants too, because he wants too,
Why'd you always run around in crowds?
Because he wants too, because he wants too,
Do you always have to dance all night?
Because he wants too, because he wants too,
Why'd you always say what's on your mind?
Because he wants too, because he wants too,

This is all for memory. It was a catchy song.

Oooh, I remember Robyn, my sister has her CD. As for Billy, ummm...the only one hit wonder woman-Billy I can think of is Billy Myers, who came out with "Kiss The Rain".

I remembered Stay because I had just uploaded it to my computer from my cd lol

And I liked "Hey Mickey" when I was younger. My nickname was Zecky in jr.high, and some boys in my drama class would sing the song, but instead of Mickey, they would put in Zecky. They also did that to the song Iesha (sp?) by Another Bad Creation.

But they were all good! Especially the latter two, both have had incredible success.

Exactly, and a lot of people have heard of him, and is a legend, usually one hit wonders have one song and seem to disappear off the planet.

Any man who can play a guitar upside down deserves to be remembered.

I actually liked "Your'e a God" (Vertical Horizon's other well-known song) a little better than "Everything You Want"...maybe because it wasn't quite as overplayed.

Nobody's mentioned my favorite band yet, and unfortunately, I guess they would have to be considered a One Hit Wonder. Nine Days, of "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)" fame recorded a really amazing album called "So Happily Unsatisfied" about two years after "The Madding Crowd" (Where "Absolutely" comes from). Unfortunately, their record company didn't support it, and it was never released. The band is currently in a sort of half-broken-up, no record contract limbo state at the moment, and it's really very sad because they've made so much wonderful music, not just "Absolutely".
