And, I agree with you totally. TNT should either warn us about this or create a support dept just to investigate missing items. Better yet, maybe they should anticipate getting tons of new players when they do a big promotion like the McDonald's giveaway--and have the new servers ready and in place before the giveaway.

I mean, honestly, could you imagine a bank or stock trading company like Charles Schwab getting away with this? Oh, I hear the cries already--"but the site is free" and "you don't pay for it so be happy with whatever service Neopets doles out to you." To answer those people: Yes, we do pay for the site--with our time and with our support of the sponsors. Without its players making huge investments of time into the site (causing sponsors to jump at the chance to advertise to all of us), Neopets would be just another flash in the pan!

:) Thank you, morning.

My thoughts exactly. Just let us know what's going on and have something there to compensate for any lost items, and most people will be happy. So the site may be free, but a lot of people put a lot of time into it, and it's those people, not the ones who come on for the freebies 15 minutes every day, who keep the site popular. I don't think neo is beyond help, but I do think they need to improve a lot before they work on new items, pets, games, ect.

Neo isn't beyond help. I work for a computer software implementation firm and know that the technology is out there for them to be able to capture error messages and reconcile them. It's just whether or not they want to devote the money to pay for this and to pay for support staff to research the error messages.

Man, I can't believe how similar we think! It's like you stole the words out of my mouth!!

It really makes me mad that TNT spend all this effort on adding new things and new promotions instead of fixing their current problems and helping the hard working dedicated players who get unfairly frozen or get their items and money glitched away.

Tonu, we think alike because we have experienced just about every glitch out there--and at almost the exact same time. You'd think after a year of dealing with this, we'd be immune to it by now, eh?

Yep you sure would... I've learned to just expect it, so I don't get super mad when it happens...

ENT....what about TFT (the freeze team)

It seems that I've had a rollback too...:( lost 10k...not much really, but it's still np.

Sun Jun 13, 2004 9:20 pm

yeah i think there was a rollback. i was searching high and low for a doglefox i restocked yesterday and it was nowhere to be seen..not sold off, not in my shop, inventory or SDB...i was puzzled over it until i saw this thread..

Sun Jun 13, 2004 9:31 pm

LOL I love to see people using the ENT word... I remember when that came about, so it pleases me to see it rolling over to another neopets site

I didn't get hit by the rollback, I hadn't done anything in the past few days luckily other than buy stocks... which I honestly wouldn't notice if only 1 days worth had been gone. *now can't stop wondering if it did*

Sun Jun 13, 2004 9:31 pm

I was reading about this stuff last night and this is getting pathetic!I never knew how much stuff was going on on Neopets like this until I came here.I'm lucky I have only been hit by one glitch(the password finder one)and that was a while back.I think Neopets is slacking on the site some since they've started on all this new stuff, like the McDonalds stuff.

Sun Jun 13, 2004 9:47 pm

Strange, at first I though I hadn't been rolled back, but it appears I was. Though the other day I took out 20k from my shop till, and put it in the bank. Now I have 20k in my till again, but before I touched i checked the bank, and I have all the money I had, none is missing. :o I think I should email them before I touch the np. Who should I email?

I'd send in a bug report about that. The same thing happened to other people, who got frozen for removing the money from their till. (Once again, neo shows just how little they think through the consequences of their actions.) I liked the TFT thing, it's quite fitting. Makes me wonder just how many variations of TNT could actually exist. ;)

I absolutely agree. ENT makes a mistake, a glitch happens, a rollback, the auction glitch recently where people ended up with multiples of the same thing in auction (not duped, not done deliberately - just another glitch when they "fixed" the auctions) and Boom! The person's frozen for a mistake that person did NOT make, didn't try to cheat, didn't take advantage.

A friend of mine has a username that starts with A. She called me concerned because she only had a few items in her inventory, some jelly, omelettes and I think she said a couple of the Micky D plushies. She logged in today and they were gone. I know, costs next to nothing, but she was really worried that someone had gotten into her account for a minute. I didn't think to ask her to check her gallery! I don't think she's added anything to it recently. I'll have to ask her.

I've had the shop glitch where something gets sold, the username and amount shows up in sales history, but no np in the till. All these things are getting really old, aren't they?

Sun Jun 13, 2004 11:24 pm

i just got on (for the minute or two it was up) and all my items are they way they were last night. so i don't know what rollback your talking about. maybe they undid the rollback.

Sun Jun 13, 2004 11:36 pm

I got my items back and nps were missing, so i resold the items. I got a candy cane negg from Talia..i don't know if the roll back will affect that or my quest

Sun Jun 13, 2004 11:43 pm

Everything that needs to be said has already been said beautifully :) But...

It would not even take 5 min to update the news with a tiny warning: DO NOT REMOVE NP FROM TILL or DO NOT USE THE TRADING POST. Think of how many glitched trades could've been saved (I'm thinking particularly of THE BIG TP GLITCH, where they took 3 days to even admit something might be wrong). People had missing trades since last night (missing from inventory, stuck in trades, which probably means its poofed). Still no warning.

On the other hand, be glad to know that a new expansion set is coming!!!!!!1111 Let's all buy some cards, eat some Happy Meals, download some Neocrap for our cellphones and know that this coporation loves us enough NOT to rollback that horrid 4/4/04 password glitch (which was the fault of their code), but is willing to rollback some randomness that happened last night that no one seems to know about.

Oh, by the way, someone needs to explain rollback to them. If my till is reset, my items should be back in my shop, unsold

Anyways, rant over :P I removed NP from till, I'm one of the people who lost NP not gained huge amounts. I think I can move my own money...I'm kinda resigned to the fact that I'm not getting anything back anyways.
