Only a binder I only have two classes this year so all i need is that one binder. Well an whatever books we may be reading in English...but those fit in my binder most of the time.

What I carry home varies everyday. It depends on what classes I have, and whether I leave my Maths textbook at school. On a packed day, I usually carry:

Maths Textbook
Maths Book
English Folder (with book and loose pages)
PE clothes (to change into at school during PE)
History/Geography folders
a novel for reading time
+writing books for all my classes

I weigh 99 pounds- which means I shouldn't carry more that 9.9 pounds in my bookbag, but usually I have about 10 pounds.

Whatever I have on me obviously.

Hrm...not much. It still hurts, but eh.

Today my mom picked me up because I was bringing my textbooks home - we have a home and school set - but I had:
-A book (The Notebook)
-A binder
-6 textbooks
-Tons of writing tools (pens, pencils, markers, colored pencils )
-A paperback textbook for english

Usually it's that much or so minus the textbooks. And I just brought a book to school for the first time today. ;p I don't know how much it weighs though.

I don't take anything back home. I always leave my backpack, books, and lots of other stuff at school. There's no need to bring them home, unless I have to study for some test.
I usually don't have more than 4 books in my backpack. And it weighs nothing. I sometimes forget I am carrying all that.

Oh, and I weigh like, 175 pounds:P So really, the backpack is nothing.

I bring home whatever I brought to school. So, it depends on what classes I had that day. Usually it's not too bad, though I noticed quite a strain when I had maths and history on the same day...the only two subjects I have textbooks for. =P

Well since we have no lockers, there are different classes each day, and every teacher wants us to use a binder for their class, it could get pretty heavy.And lets not forget the books...

But my back is pretty messed up as it is.

There's a local recommendation that a student should not carry more than a certain percentage of their body weight as students here tend to have absolutely enormous bags. Perhaps it was 20%?

I weighed by bag once 3 years ago. It was 25 lbs. I was roughly 100 lbs so it was quite a bit anyway.

I use folders - as in what I think people call binders. Folders/files/arch files, those big things, as we're required to. I tend to keep all of last year's notes in them as well since I like to refer to them when they're needed (and cause there's nowhere to put them at home yet). I may have three to five subjects worth of folders to bring home a day (each subject has a folder), not including art portfolio or PE kit.

Since I don't fancy carrying five folders and an art portfolio (which is pretty big), I usually take the pieces I need for homework and slide them into a plastic wallet I call my "homework" folder. It makes it a lot lighter as well, and much easier to carry.

Well, there are certain things I *must* carry around every day (I go to the freshmen school for math in the morning, so I can't leave my math stuff in my locker at the jr. high). Then you add the books and other binders I need that day. So usually, I have:

-One or two textbooks
-One or two binders
-Two or three notebooks/composition book

Not as bad as it could be, I suppose.

Things in my bag:

A pair of trainers (if I'm planning to play football.)
My PE kit; shirt, shorts and trainers (If I have PE.)
A drink. (Usually if I have PE.)
A can of deodarant (If I have PE.)
My pencil case; 5 pens (biro), 2 pencils, an eraser, a ruler, a fountain pen.
My blazer.

The things I carry home consist of the following:

Always A heavy binder used for every class
Always my Sociology book
Always my Magic Card deck.
Usually my PE uniform (on Fridays [we are required to have PE every day])
Usually my Writing book
Usually my math book
Possibly my Human Physiology Book and Binder
Possibly my Spanish book



Its usually a mix between the first three and possibly some of the other ones.

Wow, Chass, OR you could put the backpack on the scale!?

Err, we don't have lockers etc. So I take to and from school the books that I need for the days lessons (we have a different timetable for each day)
