It's for people in 5th - 12th grade, if I'm not mistaken. You could send for information online on their website.

I think they have three seperate programs, one for grade school, one for junior high, and one for high school. :)

EDIT: The People to People Student Ambassador Program provides opportunities for grade school, junior high and senior high students to explore domestic and foreign destinations, learning about the history, government, economy and culture of the areas they visit.

Yeah, but you can say you watched a anime with the original subbing. I watched some kind of anime on a tv station called 'Yo-Yo TV'. I don't even know the same of it, but it was good. Although, it's hard to know if I had to go by the sweatdrops and stuff.

You can go on trips, but only high schoolers go to Japan. In fact, grader schoolers can't go to Asia at all. Sorry!

But they can go to Hawaii. Lucky Ducks.

but why would you want to say that? you really don't get anything out of it. the first time i saw ghost in the shell was in japan, in japanese. when i finally got to see it at home, subtitled, it was completely different from what i thought was going on.

knowing what's going on is an important part of watching a movie.

It's legit. My friend and I both got invites years and years ago and she actually went. She had a blast and I'm extremely jealous that I didn't go to this day. There's only one trip a year, so there really isn't "waiting to get another invite" until next year. :P

The huge drawback to the whole thing is that the trip's a bit pricey. Go to the information meeting... they'll tell you everything there. :)

How pricey is 'pricey?' $2000? $3000+?

And I'd be willing to wait for another year too. Ugh. Because if it's more than $2,500 I'd rather just go to France and Spain.

But at least I know it's legit now. ^_^ Thanks. (And I must say I didn't think I'd get this many responses on this thread.)

And Yoshi, that cell phone/getting lost thing has me scared now.... :P

Teeeheheheheh, I'll be up there again for my second time in about 12 days :) (Well, today's the 12th, and I'm going on the 23th...)

But GOOOOOOOO, for SURE. Japan is awesome, whether you speak the language or not. I have been studying Japanese for about 6 years and I'm intending to make a career out of it :)

Now that you've brought it up again...oh shoot, I can't remember if it's ¥1000...or ¥100. It's like $8 CAD or 80¢. XD

Japan's a pretty darn crowded place. Especially in the trains during rushhour... cell phone's pretty darn handy.

So is knowing the phone number to your grandmas house... luckily i never got lost. But 100 yen sounds more reasonable than 1000 yen. But hey, carry lotsa coins. =D
