I didn't really pay attention much to groups back in k-12, I was too busy hating school, although I'm pretty sure there were some. I stumbled upon a few, including one that was shocked that I hadn't smoked pot or gotten drunk yet (I was 13 at the time) o_O

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know just about every school has one. I'm not doing this to be mean,I'd just like to know what rung you would be on. I'm not sure the order mine goes in,but I'll make a general guess. I'm not going to laugh if you're at the bottom. I'll send my monkey after anyone who does laugh at someone.

Here's the basic ladder I've put together

(Popular people who appear to be above the stuff everyone else has to drudge through - IE forms for working on yearbook, is always on student council.)
(Mean populars)
(Nice papulars (very few of em))
(Sporty people)
(Goths)
(Smart non-geeks)
(Geeks)
|(Obsessive geeks)| <-- ME!
(Stupid geeks. That takes effort.)
(People who don't really fit anywhere else)
(Unsuccessful bootlickers)
|(People who act like animals, literally.)| <-- So much for me climbing up stairs the FUN way...

Yeah, that's about it. Problem is most people are in several categories.

I don't know about my school, but in my grade there are...

|'Queen/King' of populars (sheesh... laaaaaame) who snicker about all the dorks.
Popular and snicker about the dorks, but not next to them. Usually when a dork is in need, they act kind. They aren't too bad, to tell you the truth. The ones from my class are still my friends :P
The popular wannabe's who I think are really laaaaaaame too, because they giggle at everything the populars say and follow them like puppies
The ones with alot of friends and all, but aren't invited usually to those private popular sleepovers and mall shopping
The ones with friends but don't really hang out with the populars
The ones that stick with only one to three close friends
The wanna be funny but just AREN'T! Not really popular
|The ones no one like but they always are sure other kids are their best friends (yeah... there is one in my class, and guess who she sticks to x__x)
The dorks, geeks, school lovers etc - you know them already

Wow... that's one long ladder... in our grade, it's not like, the jocks, the populars, the dorks, like in every school. It's... different. Anyway, I'm on the
|The ones with alot of friends and all, but aren't invited usually to those private popular sleepovers and mall shopping| level :P

I am not entirely sure what the order was like at my old high school but I can give you the names of all the different cliques there were:

(Preps)
(Drama Club)
(Jocks)
(Hmongs)
(Freaks) - I was in this group, last resort group
(Goths)
(The Cave crew)
(Skaters)
(Bladers)
(Hicks/Cowboys & Cowgirls)

Those are about all the ones I noticed. And there is no category for Stoners because they were mostly the Skaters and Bladers.

(Basketball Players AKA the preppy people)
(People that hang out with basketball Players Aka. the people they've been friends with forever.)
(The average people)
(The not popular people)

I'm a sophmore in high school and that's how my grade is anyway. The seniors and freshmen's social ladders are weird because no one group of average people really stands out. You're either popular or an extreme loser. My school is kinda weird. There's kinda cliques but everyone gets along for the most part.

I go with the average people. I used to be in the basketball players group but I didn't like the people. I'm a cheerleader so I hang out with cheerleaders. But that's how it is with all sports.

I go to an exclusively 6th grade school - basically our school is the merging point of the 3 elementary schools in our district because it's the only 6th grade school in the district.

The 'popularity' ladder so to say is:

(Extremely popular girls and guys, mainly girls that wear miniskirts)
(Previously popular kids) [Kids that were popular at their elementary school]
(Extremely smart kids) <--- YOU ARE HERE (Or I am anyway)
(Average kids)
(New kids)
(Loners)

The gossip ladder typically is:
(Extremely popular kids)
(Average kids)
(Previously popular kids)
(Smart kids)
(Loners)
(New kids)

I think the order for the following is pretty close to being accurate.... I'm not sure though. XD

Popular people
Skaters/ rock lovers
girls who hang out with the skaters
ditz/ preps
asians
wannabes
goths
punks
"Gasians"- The asian weirdos
Gangster-like people
loners
stuck up snobs
geeks/dorks
people who look like they'd bring weapons to school

And that's all the groups I can think of...

This is hard to decide.....

[Popular]---| tied
[Kind]-------|
[Annoying]
[Me]

Why do I get my own rung you say? I'm the bottom two mixed. But I'm not popular I don't like it. I just like having a few friends instead of having a load of fans.

(Steal the rhythm while you can.)

Seeing as me and Callie go to the same school this is odd for me to come behind her and redo this but oh well this is how I think our school goes....

Popular Preps, Jocks, and Rednecks (stuck up, rich, snobs)
|Popualar (not snobby)| <---I'm here
Lesser known rednecks
Wannabe Rednecks
The smart, quieter types
The Anti-socials
Anyone else who might protest the fact that they live in a town full of Rednecks who love to hunt, fish, and wear Dixie Outfitter T-shirts with Wranglers

...And that would be how our school goes

my highschool was great, it was an arts school, so the "Outsiders" outnumbered the "Popular kids".
That being said, i'm not sure where I'd fit. I was kinda popular, yet still an "outcast".
I must have made some sort of lasting impression on the place, people 4 grades lower than me (it had grades 7-12) still recognise me from there 5 years later.

No need to drive me crazy, I'm close enough to walk.

I'm only in junior high, but we still have a ladder type thing-ish,
((Mainstream - If Abercrombie said breathing wasn't cool, they'd die))
((Punkers etc - They're all in a band, one way or another and they all play guitar))
((Jocks - we also have Female Jocks. They go to soccer camp every summer))
((The Starving Artists - We draw, write, sing, and generally express ourselves anyway we can, including using our wardrobe. I'm here))
((The A Students - They cry if they get a B on homework))
((Those who speak little English - Consists of Japanese, Korean, and Middle Eastern people, usually))
((The Hard-core Roleplayers - Card gamers and online gamers))
((Other - Aren't really there doing anything...))

Yay.

Lemme think, the ladder here has 3 steps, each one shows it's contents in no particular order (Stoners can be anywhere):

Average
-Athletes <- Half me...
-Half Clowns
-Hot people
-Just really average <- Half me...

Goths

Losers
-Geeks
-Nerds
-People who just act strange, talk funny, walk funny, sit funny
-People with too much energy
-People who like anime/too much into fantasy books
-Over the top clowns
-Ugly people (we have some very ugly people...

Pfft. Mau and I go to the same school, but I'm reposting my own simplified version. :P

[Populars]
[Not quite average but not quite popular]
[Average]
[Nick]
[Lowest rung]

And there's lots of different categories within each.

For instance:

Populars: Mainstreams, "punkers"

Middle1: Jocks, some "punkers"

Average: {Where me and Mau are} Various not completely geeky-geeks (the ones who are weirdly cool, like me ;)), people obsessive about their grades, people who are just kind of there.

Nick: This is the category we just call "Nick" after one of our friends. He is floating about in space, therefore deserves his own category.

Lowest rung: The geeky geeks, like...the stereotypical type.

I feel shallow!

See, I know for a fact there is a strict social ladder at my school (it's always been like that) but it's hard for me to say because I'm sort of part of every group. I'm good friends with, and am mostly considered, a 'prep', just because I wear Abercrombie and are friends with prepp-y people. But I also really like drama and stuff (the directing), so I am friends with those people. But at the same time I enjoy music, so I talk to the punk rockers.

It's funny, my two best friends (who are girls) are totally opposite. One is your typical Susie High School (head cheerleader, uber social, etc) while the other is anti-social (likes punk rock, etc)
