A few different ways...

I can touch type, as in typing without having to look at the keyboard.
I can office-style type, as in touch-typing using the home row fingerings.

But mostly I just type with my left and right pointer fingers and my thumbs for the space/ shift keys. I can type rather fast, but I'm not exactly sure. I know in Keyboarding class I've gotten over 100 wpm.

I type in the style taught by "touch-typing" (I, for some reason, despise that term) instructors--fingers on the "home row," right thumb on spacebar, etc. I type anywhere from 60-100 wpm, depending on the occasion. Typing posts (like such) or even informal notes/emails is usually much slower because I'm not so certain of what I shall say, but copying my own drafts are much faster because the content is given. Therefore, typing tests usually show an unrealistically high speed.

I got 90 wpm on the posted test--It was almost like sightreading in the way that once I got used to reading ahead, I went much more smoothly.

I type with both hands. I never did until my first year of high school when they made typing classes mandatory for all freshmen. I hated it then and would never have taken it on my own, but I'm better for it. It really annoys me to watch my mom type. She pecks, but she can probably only handle 5-10 WPM. I always want to get in there and type it for her because she's driving me nuts!

I'm finally back for the summer, although hopefully I'll spend a little more time away from this screen.

That reminds me of my roommate from last semester. She could touch type and all but she was very slow. She asked me to type her papers for her. She'd write them out and I'd have it done for her in around ten to fifteen minutes, if I don't stop and correct all her grammar errors.

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.

I type with one finger on each hand, which is how I've always typed. I do find it odd, however, that I use my index finger on my left hand and my middle finger on my right. I don't know why, that's just how I naturally type. I learned how to type correctly in 9th grade, but it was never comfortable for me so I gave up on it pretty quickly.

I type with both hands, not on any paticular keys, like people keep telling me I should. Strangely, when I'm angry, I type much faster and more accurately than when I'm upset or feeling normal. I think the highest I've ever gotten in WPM is 145. However, that is not even close to my norm- which I'd say is probably around 70 WPM.

I type quite slowly... around 50 WPM, but without mistakes.
I still haven't managed to look at the screen when I type, so when I'm writing without having to look at something and I can fix the keyboard I'm much quicker.
I use both hands, but just the index, sometimes another finger to press the enter key or back.

Long live the chicken peck! :P

I'm not a really fast typer but I'd say I'm around 50-60 WPM still. It's easier to write fast when you think of all the words instead of doing those tests, at least for me, as I look down at my keyboard when I type.

Eh, I don't need to look at the keys to type, and normally I get around 70 WPM. However, when I don't know what to say, normally I type slower. :P

I hate pecking though. My dad and brother both do it, and it drives me absolutely nuts.

I type with both hands. I don't have to look at the keyboard but do anyway, and I can type faster when thinking of what to say in my mind rather than copying.

Let's see. I type around 70-100 words, depending on who I'm typing to (in typing classes and stuff I hover closer to the 100 mark; at home I tend to type closer to the 70 mark.

I don't always type the same keys with the same fingers; usually I'll move a finger over to type a word. For example, on my right hand, my index finger tends to type the letter 'o' a lot.

I also know when I make a mistake like most people. :D

I type with both hands at 70-90 WPM. I don't type from home row, but I do use all of my fingers. I just don't keep my hands on home row.

I don't know my WPM, but I know that I'm fast. I've been typing almost every day for years and have long gotten used to and learned to type well without looking at the keyboard. I, of course, use both my hands, as a versed typist would do, as it's appropriate and more efficient that way.

Fast?

Yeah.

I keep my mother awake sometimes while I pound at my keys.

I use bother hands and I don't usually have to look.

50 isn't bad. I type 56 per minute and the typing test I took said I had impressive accuracy. Imagine that, I'm only 11!
