Don't judge America's donation so quickly. It's expected to grow to $1 billion. The reason Bush isn't shelling out all that right now is he can't. The initial $15 mil is what was left of the emergency relief fund. When that runs out, he can't just produce more, he has to go to a counsel and request more money. It would have been nice if there was more money in there, but of course no one could have predicted this happening.

Chrome, just wondering- you say if we'd had instince people would have sensed it been able to bail out. How much time do you think beforehand they would have sensed that it was going to happen? Do you really think it would have been long enough to evacuate the entire affected area? I really don't think so.
I don't know. All I know is the animals had enough time. All they needed to do was move to higher ground.

If anything, the US government should be giving more! Latest I've heard is $35 million and sending over a team of experts to assess damages. Well, um, assessment isn't what the people need. I'm going to suck it up and ask my mom if I can donate now.
I disagree. I mean, I realize they'll need much more money, but they'll also need more than just that. They need our
help, our advice and our aid. There are entire nations that will need to be rebuilt, and they're going to need more than just money to do that.
