Immunity Challenge - The Great Mathematical Relay

Qanda enters. “I am going to start the immunity challenge now since this one is difficult and will need lots of time to complete. It is called The Great Mathematical Relay, and will prove much harder than the word race.

Game details:

1) One person in the tribe will be given a number by me (via PM) and asked to pass it on to another specific member of the tribe.

2) The other tribe members will be given a set of mathematical steps, such as “x+4” or “x*5”, and instructions on who to pass the number onto. “x” here refers to the number received.

3) One person in the tribe will be the last person, and shall get the final number, perform his set of mathematical instructions on it, then PM the final answer to me.

4) Therefore, once the first person receives the number from me, he shall PM the number to the person instructed in my PM. The second person will then perform his set of mathematical steps on it and then PM the new number derived to the person instructed in his PM. When the number reaches the last person, he will perform his mathematical steps on it then PM me the final answer.


Example: Player A, B, C and D are participating. Player A starts the relay. He is given the number 4 and is asked to PM this number to Player B. Player B is given the mathematical instructions “x+12” and asked to pass the number to Player C. Player C is given the mathematical instructions “x/2” and asked to pass the number to player D. Player D is given the mathematical instructions “x-5” and asked to PM the number to me.

Therefore, Player A will send his number (4) to Player B. Player B will perform his mathematical steps on it, adding 12 to 4, thereby getting 16. He PMs Player C the number 16 (don’t PM the steps, just PM the number). Then Player C divides 16 by 2, getting 8, and PMs the number 8 to Player D. Lastly, Player D subtracts 5 from 8, getting 3, and sends the number 3 to me.

5) You may not post your number or mathematical steps on the thread. All proceedings must be conducted through PM.

6) The first tribe from which I receive the correct final number wins immunity. You have a maximum of 48 hours to complete this challenge. If both tribe do not manage to complete it on time, both tribes will lose and suffer the same fate.

The challenges has not started yet as I've not yet sent out the PMs. I will post here announcing when it starts. You are only allowed to start work after I make that post. In the meantime, feel free to post any questions you have about the challenge.

About the challenge, I doubt I will be very useful as Im rubbish with graphics...sorry!

I recently bought PSP9, so I'm not entirely useless. My graphics follows, but it's not very good, so don't rely on me. Any improvements could be posted/PMed to me, but I think that putting all your eggs in this basket may be a bit of a lost cause

I have made an av, it took me far too long and its complete tripe, but I did try.... going for sympathy vote here! I am soooo useless with anything requiring artistic talent.

Qanda enters. "Sorry for the delay, I was out the whole day collecting red packets since it is Chinese New Year today. Without further ado, I shall announce the results for both challenges."

Results for both challenges

Congratulations to Valentia, who won both of the challenges! I have chosen Yesitish's avatar as the winner of the reward challenge, and Valentia has also managed to send in the correct final answer to their mathematical relay to me less than a day after it started. This was one challenge which favoured the tribe with less players.

Voting starts now. Today's voting shall be very different, as can be seen below.

Voting guidelines

1) Today's voting will be conducted differently. Instead of voting out people from your own tribe, you will vote out people from the other tribe. Therefore, Valentia's members shall vote for two people from Hakunamatata, while Hakunamatata's members shall vote for one person from Valentia (since Valentia won the immunity challenge).

2) Each tribe also gets to immunise some members from being voted out. Immunised members cannot be voted out at tribal council. Hakunamatata gets to immunise one member from being voted out, while Valentia gets to immunise two, because they won the reward challenge (this is the something nice I talked about).

3) Discuss about who you wish to immunise from voting. Have one person from your tribe PM me your decision. This can be included together with that person's own voting PM. I will not reveal who was immunised until I announce the voting results.

Therefore, if the majority vote by Hakunamatata was for someone in your tribe who was immunised, that vote will fail and be wasted. That means no one from your tribe will be voted out at all.

4) Of course, each and every person must vote too. The same rules apply, except that you will be voting for people from the other tribe. Example of a voting PM, together with PM title, from tribe Valentia:



Note that this example PM includes the immunisation decision. Only one representative from each tribe should include that in their PM. If more than one person PMs me about it and the decisions are conflicting, I will not accept any of them.

5) You have 36 hours to vote and also decide on who in your tribe should be immunised (Valentia can choose two people, both for voting and for immunisation). Also, any votes which do not follow the rules and format given will not be accepted.
