Meat is great in my opinion. I really have no desire to be a vegetarian...I have nothing against vegetarians, I know a guy thats a vegetarian for that matter. I see nothing wrong, disguisting etc. with devouring animals. Its fun to eat squid in my opinion, it looks disguisting but surprisingly its not; but anyway: as my meat didn't come from a mad cow or a diseased chicken then I see nothing wrong with it. Even though I think lamb is mean, but had it been an adult I would have eaten it anyway so everythings relative I guess.

I have been a vegetarian for over 4 years. I cut down my milk products and mainly use soy and do not eat eggs. Honey always grossed me out.
It is against my moral beliefs and it is cruel to animals

I suppose I'm a sorta vegematarian right now. It's surprisingly easy. Oo

Lacto.

I don't like putting violence in my body. It's like ingesting violence to me... It's weird.

Chickens are locked in small cages.... but at least cows can roam.

And I dislike people saying "I'd rather wear a person than an animal" type things... Because, I'm sure 99% of the time it's not true.

I don't like eating too much meat, but I have no qualms eating it (unless the dish tastes bad, of course).

i dont' usually eat eggs in general, but i will eat things with eggs in them, like bread and egg noodles. and every once in a while, i'll get in this wild mood for an omelette.

not all--there are free-range chickens and organic eggs.

it's hard to eat this way, though, because it seems that the better the animals are treated, the more expensive the product becomes. and if someone can't afford an extra two dollars for organic milk, i certainly can't judge them for that.

Well, I rather WOULD wear a person than an animal. I have my reasons, and I'm not sure if they're appropriate to post, so I'll just say I have my reasons.

Yeah.. I can't afford the more expensive kind.

That's kind of weird, kyra.

Would you rather kill a human than an animal?

My father said to me once that the standards for "free range" are very low...something like that they're treated better than normal, but a lot of time still not very well. I'm not completely sure where he read that, though...

Fri Feb 18, 2005 5:54 am

Nope, but with my meat intake, I could be one. :P

I'm aware and try to predominantly eat free-range chickens/turkey and health approved pork, but I rarely rarely rarely eat beef. I eat out alot nowadays so it's hard for me to find out where a restaurant gets their meat.

I only eat meat maybe 2-3 times a week though, unlike people who have it every meal. I didn't eat red meat for over 7 years and learned to prepare proper vegetarian meals (protein, iron and all) and usually cook everything sans meat, I falter with sandwich meat and occasional bacon or Maple Leaf Lodge chicken.

It's hard when you're at home, but I still managed to convince my mother when I was a teen to let me figure out meals that were meat-free or could be easily meat free for me, that we'd all like. Usually worked out well. I see alot of kids I know going vegetarian or vegan though and they usually eat junk food rather than figure out how to eat PROPERLY without eating meat, so I say make sure you get your stuff straight and be careful. Sure it's easy to go and buy junk food thats vegetarian, but in the long run, that's defeating the purpose of just learning to eat good.

Fri Feb 18, 2005 9:08 am

Nope.. not a vegetarian here and I've never considered being one.

I'd die if I couldn't have my meat!

I don't care if other ppl want to be vegetarians or straight up vegan or whatever so long as they don't start preaching about it.

I was looking at some egg info, and now I'm thinking about dropping them. The standards for free range aren't incredibly high...

Problem is, I don't think I could go without eggs. At least, not yet. But my mum does make sure to buy only free range. (She's very supportive of me, and if I figure out what, she'll cook me a substitute for any meat her and Stu have. =))

((Edit)) And Chass - yes, I know where cheese comes from, and I only eat vegetarian cheese - no animal rennet. =)

Yes, because I would never kill an animal. Not to say I'm a raging murderer, but the human would have to do something to me before that o.O And humans are able to defend themselves. Animals can't.

EDIT: I'd like to say, I'm not trying to tell you all that you should become vegetarians. I'm not trying to preach.

Actually. It all depends on the animal, really. I'd like to see a rhino/elephant/wild cat bow down and not do anything.

As I said before-- I'm a Vegetarian and I generally don't have any problem with people eating meat, even if it is. I'm not going to preach to people who eat meat. They have rights too. (And please, don't say "animals have rights not to be killed." (or something like that.) I'd like to see formal delcaration of that... even if it is disgusting.)
