For those topics one could describe as the forum equivalent of a twinkie. Word games, forum contests and giveaways are all the rage here.

Wheee, my first set in ages! Couldn't really find oriental-looking Neopets images, so I used the Haiku Kougra and added some hiragana to make it look Japanese (the text says Ku-Ri-O ;))
Hope you like it, I'll add text to the avatar if you want.

Edit: ugh, forgot to make the sig transparent.
Edit edit: Fixed! You'd better like it :P

I agree it looks cute, but the words don't make any sense together (yes I can read Chinese). :P

Gah, I d/l a Japanese font and that's supposed to just spell out sushi.

I think that makes it more awesome. There is so much of english translated into other languages that have characters that make no sense. Like Pepsi sounds that mean "Bite the wax tadpole".

Oh, I lost my second set for ya Cleo.

third and final set. This was so much fun, finding images, trying to work with them in a different way having a specific theme. This one's kind of a "play" on the usuki advert (though I hope not as frenetic - I love that ad!). The Flotsam Geisha set is still my fav, even if the subtext makes no sense. If you want/know the correct kanji and want that changed, please let me know.

Edit: contest over, not needed

I knew that a small challenge could easily be overcome and produce some LOVELY sets.

I have a concept for a set (that works really well in my mind, haha) and hopefully I will have it done for you soon.

Now I'm not sure about the subtext, but at least it is _supposed_ to say "Will you be my fortune cookie?" :P

Whoa Silja. Your design looks a lot like Stampsyne's. That particular neogreeting is open for anybody uses, but your entry still feels like a repeat.

I thought it was good. And then I saw Silja's.

EDIT: Added the avatar. :)

I really like yours Dawn2. It's so blue!

EDIT: Found the set. Something that will be much harder to copy (as if anybody would want to) it's the Usukiland Ads!

Does anyone have any advice for an oriental looking font (as in Chinese symbols) and where/how I could download it? I have tried several and they all failed, and I see some have been successful. Any help would be greatly apreiciated.

I know, however the design came to my mind before I actually saw stampsyne's entry and I think the two entries are quite different looking at many details.

I went to http://world.altavista.com/ and selected English to Chinese-simp for the translation, typed in the text that I wanted to translate, hit the "translate" button, and copied the results into my program.

EDIT: I added the avatar to my first entry.
