Actually it happened to me too. 'Flash cheating in Pterattack' was the reason. They said that I scored more than is possible in the time the game lasted (and I still say 1100 is possible in 3 Minutes

). Most probably the same happened to you. Try writing to them, but don't get your hopes up too much.

This is something that you can never prove your innocence on. Sometimes if you get a favourable member of staff they might look at your whole history on Neopets and be charitable. But proving that you didn't cheat on a flash game is impossible. The only thing to be done is to make a case of your usual scores on the games and note any difference in machine or programmes running. Also tell them if you changed browsers as different browsers run the games at different speeds.

Do start trying to get your account back. To me, it's more than "just" getting it back, it's getting your good name back. Being accused/frozen for something you know you didn't do is just terrible.
There are certain games that people have repeatedly been frozen for, yet nothing's been done with those games to fix the problem.
I have never played pterattack, volcano run and some of the other "timed" flash games. First because just reading the instructions and looking at the game screen there's no way I'd be able to play them and secondly, most importantly, those 2 games have gotten many people frozen for cheating. That time/score ratio. I do think these are bots, not people.
Yes, it is hard to prove you didn't cheat. If you have HijackThis, you could run a scan and copy/paste the text log into an email showing what programs you do have on your computer. The browser idea is a good one, I didn't know different browsers played at different speeds. Also if you have an older, slower computer explain that or if you've recently changed from, say dialup to dsl or cable - that could I'm sure change the speed of a game playing. Also be sure to run your av and spyware scans and make sure there's nothing bad that got on your computer. That could affect things and it's one more thing to add to your defense.
The full screen thing? That I know nothing about.
I do know that there was a "mass" freezing -- was it last summer or the one before? where so many people were all frozen for cheating on flash games and most of them were all frozen for the same games. Which says it's not the people or their computers - it's the games themselves.

My husband's account was frozen almost two years ago for cheating at flashing games. After sending a score of 107 for Grundo's Snowthrow--go figure! He didn't even know what a flash game was when he got frozen. Just playing a game that he really, really liked and, as you can see, wasn't too good at.
It had happened right after they had installed shockwave and didn't have the auto-freezing bots tweaked correctly.
Poor guy was devastated, so I can just imagine how you feel right now. But, I would like to give you some encouragement. He got his account back about a week after he sent a snail mail to the company. His letter was sincere and extremely professional, yet at the same time very forward and cut-to-the-chase. He laid out the details of what had happened and explained that he and his entire family had been playing for x number of months and said outright that he did not cheat and did not even know how to cheat at any Neopets game.
He then said that it was inevitable that Neopets would mistakes from time to time--that no computer system was perfect. And, that it was clear that what had happened to him was a mistake on the part of Neopets--that it was obvious that one of their computer automated programs had malfunctioned. He said that he knew that Neopets wouldn't want mistakes like this to tarnish their reputation as being the premiere gaming website and then asked that they re-evaluate their decision about freezing his account.
He was polite and sincere, yet letting Neopets know that it had been their error, not his. He didn't get angry or blame Neopets. Just pointed out that there was a flaw in their system that needed correcting.
At the time of his freezing, there were many, many others who got frozen for the same reason. And, eventually shockwave was scrapped.
I don't know if this helps, but I had to share this with you. Freezings for cheating at flash games have happened to many others, off and on, for more than two years now.
My suggestion is to not give up--if you really want your account back, write them over and over and over--until you finally get through to someone. Be sincere and even humble--don't get angry or threatening. And, write the letter like it is a school or work project. It needs to be professional, logical, level-headed, and persuasive. Because you really only get one chance.
First, get them to realize that you are a real live person--find some way to let them know you are someone who wouldn't lie/cheat/steal (in other words, give them a character reference about yourself). Then explain the facts of what happened and when it happened. Then argue your case: point out their flaws (in a nice, polite way) and show your own theory as to why they might have thought you cheated. And, then reiterate that you did not cheat and would not cheat because you would have too much to lose to gain a few extra neopoints. And ask them to re-evaluate their decision.
I will cross my fingers for you.

Morningstar, that is about the most helpful thing I've ever read in regards to unfreezing accounts

Oliverrr, I would suggest sending a snail mail to TNT HQ along with your regular emails. A snail mail always makes a bigger imact though, since it shows that you really want your account back.

Trick wrote:Ouch :/ This is one of the reasons I don't play flash games anymore - occasionally I play faerie bubbles or turmac roll in the small size but generally I stay clear of them. It's sad that on a *game* site, some players are too scared of being accused of cheating for just being good at a game or playing it in an available size to actually play the games. Sad and stupid

Excellent point. We need to stay away from the NeoChat. We need to stay away from the guilds. We need to stay away from the Flash Games.
There's not much more to the site that we can safely enjoy, is there?

Don't give up hope.

I was frozen for supposedly using autobuyer.

but i got it back. I took a month to cool down and sent an email. Within an hour of the email, they unfroze me.

Now i seldom play flash games, restocking to avoid iceland

Did you have any score that went under review? If not, you were most probably frozen by a bot. What was the game you played last?

You were probably told by a staff member who wasn't briefed correctly on the handling of frozen accounts, Black_Panther. They are there.
Oh Oliverrr, I'm so sorry this had to happen to you, man. I don't blame you in the slightest for feeling defeated. Been there myself. What I would encourage however is that you continue to mail TNT about this, but take time-out, play Runescape, whatever. I think the time away will do you good
While I haven't been frozen within the last two years, it's mainly a 50/50 chance of reaching a staff member who will be nice enough to return your account. Just an observation. *hugs tight*
Whatever you decide and if you do come back, drop me a PM, I'll help ya out with a boost

Sorry, Black Panther, I should have clarified. Two years ago, my husband's account was frozen. One week after being frozen, he wrote a snail mail to Neopets. One week after he sent the letter, he was unfrozen.

I just read the part about fullscreen.
I've got some problems with my eyesight, so I always play at fullscreen to see the game better. I'd understand if I used some trick to enlarge the screen, but they actually have the game available at that size.
Now I have to hope I won't get frozen for using a feature they provide? It's ridiculous...

Don't forget to stay away from restocking, 'cause God knows if you post a good restock on the boards, you're probably a cheater if 1 person didn't get haggle, or you have a young account, or you have too many good trade lots (or maybe not enough good trades...)
And stay away from paint brushes, since it's a sure sign you're a cheater if you have a young account and nicely painted pets.
Oh, and no more screenshots, since if anyone's names are posted, random people can report you for harrassment, just like they do if you post someone else's acount name on the boards (even if they themselves don't mind).
And refreshing for avatars? Pfft, you can forget it, since "autorefreshing is considered a type of autobuying (
http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16049). And since no one knows what the criteria is for intervals between refreshes is before they consider it "autorefreshing", it'll just be better if you forget about attaching that cute lil Mootix you just dropped 550k on...
Man, I love this game

Same here. I use the full screen option all the time for eyesight issues! Ackk!
Anyway Oliverr, I too had my account frozen over a year 1/2 ago and I was angry & pretty crushed at the thought of all my hard work going to waste. I enjoy NeoPets as a "escape" from the real world but I just couldn't find the heart to start over. After a week or so I thought "why should I LET someone defeat ME so easily?" I started emailing almost everyday and following all the requirements to get my account back. Like Morningsar recommended, I was polite and VERY clear in my explanations and I didn't point fingers (well not too many anyway). I received a very kind response from a staff member and I continued to respond to her in the same manner. After about 3 - 4 weeks I got it back.
Don't let this crush your gaming spirit. Mistakes happen and if you know YOU did nothing wrong then Neopets did and they should correct it and hopefully (crosses fingers, eyes & toes) they will.
Good Luck!
