U is a vowel.

Shame I can't pronounce it.

I could add more regarding obesity, guns, and our current President, but did not want to provoke anyone.

1. Nope, only once a week. ;)

2. I wish! Most of us seem to be the average middle class.

3. No, which is either good or bad depending on our opiniong of Barbie.

Oo...this'll be fun.

1. Only if I can remove the gun rack from my truck first. Last time I went, I accidentally bumped into the 12-gauge...they don't let me go to that Mac-donalds no more.

2. Go outside.
Look at the dirt.
Thanks to college loans, I'm poorer than the dirt.

3. Only the ones on Miss America.

Going back several pages since I'm not British, German, or American...

CardShark wrote:Can I ask a question to the wonderful Canadians? What's with the "eh?" Or is that just a stereotype?

I don't know really, I grew up hearing it a lot and ended up picking it up without really knowing it. It's not really a replacement for "huh" for me, I use "huh" when I'm startled or don't understand something. The "eh" is just something used at the end of a sentence statement, and that's how it's like a "huh?" (or a "no?" or "ne?").

Have fun understanding what I just said. One thing I can say with clarity is that it's not a stereotype, though. :P

1. Do you all eat at McDonald's every day?
Ew. No.
2. Are you all wealthier than spit?
Depends on the spit. Are we talking about CEO spit? If so, then no. If it's just your average run-of-the-mill spit, it probably doesn't have any money, so yeah, we're almost all wealthier than spit.
3. Do all American women look like the Barbie Doll? ( couldn't resist )
I thought foreigners liked to talk about how obese Americans were...?

1. Do you all eat at McDonald's every day?

I'd have to be crazy to, seeing as I'm not really fond of it and the nearest one is about fifty miles away. o.o;

2. Are you all wealthier than spit?

Lemme sum this up: No. No. And no. =o Seriously... we aren't.

... Miss Padfoot's explanation of this is good. *Nod*

3. Do all American women look like the Barbie Doll? ( couldn't resist )

What the... I sure hope I don't! *Shudder* Eeew... Wait awhile and I'll show you we don't. I have to get some pictures developed...

Morningstar wrote:1. Do you all eat at McDonald's every day?

Ugh, no! I only eat it...once a year. I'm a Burger king girl.
2. Are you all wealthier than spit?

Not really, but my family is well-off, considering I have cable (internet and TV).
3. Do all American women look like the Barbie Doll? ( couldn't resist :P )

I might, only because I'm blonde. But, no.

Oh, though I'm not British I can say that fish and chips are really good.

Yes of course 8)

Yes they are, they're totally yummy though I prefer a sausage supper x) And deep fried mars bars? For shame, everyone know a Boost in batter is the way to go :D And kilts are the best - but guys please, if you are english at a scottish uni don't wear the kilt and especially, for the love of fashion, don't wear tartan trousers :/ It makes me point and laugh.

Oh and irn-bru - never ever mix with alcohol. I can never drink the stuff again. And avoid the diet stuff at all costs, it tastes like metal carrots. That's right, I know what I'm talking about - metal carrots bleurgh.

1. Do you all eat at McDonald's every day?
McDonald's is yucky! It's all just salt and fat, and unless I want my heart to stop, I stay away as much as possible.

2. Are you all wealthier than spit?
Not at all. :P *shakes head* I'm not poor, but I'm FAR from rich. Let's say, we can pay bills and we can buy about $40 of food and that's it for the week. Then again, I do live with a single mom, so it's tough.

3. Do all American women look like the Barbie Doll? ( couldn't resist :P )
HA! Not me, since I have black and pink hair. :P And I'm not that skinny. But 80% of the girls in our school wish they looked like her...and they try. Oh boy...*dies*

1. Do you all eat at McDonald's every day?
Our McDonald's closed down, so we don't have one. But no...I don't eat anything that requires me to wring out the grease first.

2. Are you all wealthier than spit?
We is po'. :P

Seriously, BF works 2 jobs, I can't work, and we somehow manage to pay the bills. We do buy nice stuff once in a while, but we're by no means rich.

3. Do all American women look like the Barbie Doll? ( couldn't resist Cheeky Tongue )

Ok, ok...I'm dying my hair blonde soon. But it would take an act of God to make me look like Barbie.

Oh, shapu, you indeed got my joke.

A few others did as well. ;) But some of you actually thought I was serious.

So, I guess, being the good American that I am, it is my turn to answer my own questions:

1. Do you all eat at McDonald's every day?
Of course. Mmm, mmm, mmm, nothing better for the body than a fat/preservative concoction, with secret sauce of course, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

2. Are you all wealthier than spit?
Of course. Otherwise, just how the heck would we be able to afford the constant tax increases, the rising cost of health care, the $3.00 a gallon gasoline for our big honking SUV's that are absolutely necessary for travel in the suburbs (never know when a mountain might appear before your very eyes), while still being able to afford those country club fees.

3. Do all American women look like the Barbie Doll? ( couldn't resist :P )
Of course we do. I mean, really, we look exactly like every actress and pop singer on TV (well, to be honest, most American men wish that all American women looked like Barbie, right?)

Don't get me wrong. I love America. But, stereotypical Americans, not so much. And, besides, it wasn't fair to pick on the British, Germans, and Dutch (I am 1/2 Dutch) without poking a teensy bit of fun at ourselves.

Thu Apr 14, 2005 6:28 am

1. Do you all eat at McDonald's every day?
Only if we're making documentaries about how disgusting it is. I personally go about once a year on band trips.

2. Are you all wealthier than spit?
Compared to the international level of spit, yeah, but because everyone's wealthier than spit, everything's still expensive, and so most of us wind up being middle class anyhow. Can we tell I haven't taken economics yet?

3. Do all American women look like the Barbie Doll? ( couldn't resist )
Only in Los Angeles.
Actually... wait. Not here either.

You guys say "Hay". Trust me. Having been to the states on numerous occasions, you guys have just as many weird things to say as we do. (Who the heck calls all different types of Pop, coke? I mean come on thats just confusing!)
I think more and more Canadians say Eh now because Americans have made such a big deal over it. Stereotypes are fun aren't they?
