I've been like this before. You just don't seem to want to do anything. You don't want to talk to anyone. I never really told anyone, but I started doing some activities by myself. I started cycling and jogging, and it really helped me. I started to eat better food. I always tried to talk to my friends, no matter how much of a chore it seemed. And eventually I got over it. So, I suggest you do the same.

To start off there was nothing. But today my boyfriend dumped me. It wasn't harsh, but he said he would like to just be friends instead. Still, it hurt me. It was my mom's fault so I've fallen out with her and now we're not talking. And my life just feels so empty all of a sudden.

How was your boyfriend finishing with you anything to do with your mom?

She thought he needed reassurance that I loved him so she told me to talk about future plans together with him, make him realise that I was never going to leave him. He then thought I was going too fast and wanted us to stay friends instead.

I have your exact same problem. I'm on an upswing right now, and I hope it lasts for a while. My irritability is creeping back, though. If you want to talk, PM me. If you don't want to talk, PM me, because I want to talk to you because you described exactly what I go through and I want to talk about it.
So either way, PM me.

Like Twinkle said, you need a hug.
Whenever your depressed, try and take your mind of it. Music works the best. If you just listen to it, you mind will be more concentrated on music.
But if the if it keeps coming back, you should be worried. You might want to look at the
symptoms of depression. If you fit a lot of them, then you should definitly see a doctor.
You might also want your mom to look at it too, and as someone said before, get help together (if you both need it). Its always easier when there is someone you care about around.

I've got music on now, thanks. It's working a little bit so I'm going to stick some music on whenever possible.
Yeah, I should be worried. I have all the symptoms. Although some of those might be my aneamia. That's my fault because I don't eat properly. And the iron tablets are awful so I don't take them.
We've fallen out though. I don't even want to look at her right now let alone speak to her.

to bring back a golden oldy

I said NOTHING about all teens being depressed, I meant that they are more emotional and prone to depression. Hey, I'm a teenager and I have it. How is that condescending? Why would I talk badly about teenagers if I happen to be one?

Mermaid Hil wrote:First of all, how old are you? Normally, I wouldn't ask, but if you are in your teens, this kind of stuff is pretty normal. It's just your hormones.
^pointage^
gives off a "all teens get depressed, get over it.
i apologise if i came off rather rougher than i meant, its just that i had six years of being told "youre a teenager its normal, now get over the crippling manic depression"
im a bit bitter y'see.

Hil probably just worded that wrong, because what she said was true. I'm sure she cares and didn't mean to sound like,"get over it". :]
Ginger (if I may call you that), I will send you another PM shortly.

Ginger Harp Seal Pup wrote:Thanks for everything, guys. Things have just got a whole lot worse though. I told my mom about my depression and she said it was just one of those things. My mom was absolutely fine a few days ago, before I told her about me. Now she's crying every day and has been talking to her mom and everyone. They're all going to rally around her. Nobody really cares about me. "You'll get over it" is what people say to me. My mom though, no, they're talking about getting help, getting her on medication because her life is oh so terrible. All I can do is sit in my room, door closed, headphones on, hoping that my depression will lift and I'll be okay soon. I only have myself, no one else seems to care.
Perhaps your mom is upset and stuff because she is worried about what you told her? I think that maybe if she's been talking to a lot of people, especially her mom, then maybe she's trying to get advice from other people. Or maybe she's crying because she thinks that it's her fault you feel so terrible like she's not doing something right... not that I know anything about parenting but I know how my mom thinks that because I act like I do shes done something wrong even though theres nothing wrong with m and Im fine.
Oh and about music. Some of you guys mentioned loud music. You listen to it a lot? I know lots of people discourage me from doing this so Im not sure if encouraging you to do it is the right thing or the wrong thing, or if it wont matter at all. But I like to plug my headphones into my stereo and just BLAST the music so incredibly loud (that some would consider it harmful to my ears) and just dance and dance around my room (long cord) until Im so burnt out I can't move. It just likes knocks everything out of my head.
