The evening was dark, the sky overcast. Ominous dark clouds could be seen on the horizon, speaking predictions of rain and storm.
Qanda, DracolordII and Yesitish sat in uneasy silence around the gallows, right beside the graveyard. The tension between them was palpable. Yesitish was wringing his hands nervously, beads of sweat forming at his temple, his face the very painting of his fear. Dracolord, on the other hand, had a decidedly smug look on his face as he looked at Yesitish ravenously, like a vulture eyeing its prey.
Breaking the silence, Qanda said, “Well, the time for execution has come. Both of you have voted for each other. Let’s see who Alcardoom will choose. Alcardoom!”
For the last time, the demonic, ghastly figure drifted past the tombstones in the graveyard and arrived at the execution site. It looked at Yesitish and DracolordII in turn, then shook its head.
“One vvvote eeeach ish not enuffff to warrrrrant an exxxxecutttion,” a inhuman hissing sound issued from the shadows of Alcardoom’s hood.
“He speaks, he speaks!” Qanda exclaimed excitedly.
“Theere is noooo majorrrittty, I willll not exxxxecute… The hapless innocccent shall be left to his inevitable faaaaate…” Alcardoom continued, waving his flowing sleeve in the direction of Yesitish.
The diabolical grin on Dracolord’s face grew even wider, revealing his disgusting yellow, jagged teeth in all their gruesomeness. Reaching into his robe, he slowly pulled out his wand, and pointed it at firmly at Yesitish.
“Ssssorrry, Yesssitishhh, but your time… issss… up!” hissed Dracolord savagely, in the same creepy manner as Alcardoom. “The innocents loossse… the Weird Sssissstersss reign SSSSUPRREEME!!!!!!” At that, he raised his wand, his mouth uttering a foul incantation. At the same time, Yesitish could be heard muttering desperately, “Oh no, what a pity all my arrows are used up...”
Suddenly, Dracolord’s wand froze in mid-air. His eyes widened in fear as he focused straight ahead of him, at a particular grave in the graveyard.
“No, it caaaan’t beee!!!” He shrieked in horror.
Turning behind, Qanda looked at the object in question. Before his eyes, the mound of earth in which Wind’s corpse was buried began to move. Slowly, surely, a slender, petite figure emerged from the grave, hair strewn all over its face, just like in a horror movie.
Wind walked resolutely to towards the group. Pointing at DracolordII, she said, “I vote - to execute you!”
Alcardoom looked at Wind, then at Dracolord. Suddenly, it lunged at Dracolord and carried him up, then glided swiftly in the direction of the courtyard. Qanda, Yesitish and the newly-arisen Wind ran after him.
By the time they reached there, DracolordII was already tied to the stake, a roaring fire burning around him. Screams of agony could be heard as the merciless flames consumed the final Weird Sister once and for all.
As if on cue, the dark clouds cleared, allowing sunlight to stream through. At the same time, a loud creaking sound was heard, as the drawbridge lowered itself and the gates of the castle opened once more.
Beaming in relief, Qanda said, “Let’s go!”
And they lived happily ever after.
The innocents have won.
