Say, would you use the backspace button if you're on an Instant Messanger? (If you realize the mistake)

Or would you just let it go and press enter anyways?

I've, personally, managed to train myself into using the backspace button really fast. Which is a good thing, because I manage to make a lot of mistakes. :P

I type and type. If there is a mistake, I ignore it. The other person should, too.

:)

I've gotten used to trying to have perfect grammar everywhere- even in chatrooms.

So, yes.

I will use backspace when I need to but it's very rarely that I do. I type very quickly but I also hardly ever make mistakes. However if I do I'm going to correct it, I'm not that keen when I receive gibberish from people, even if they are slow typers I'd rather they took those extra 5 seconds to clarify what they're saying.

After all, what is the huge rush of getting a message 5-10 seconds sooner?

Yup I use backspace...
I usually don't even notice i'm using it, it's just become a part of typing.

I use Backspace a lot. Sometimes I'm too lazy to use the mouse or the arrow keys, so I just erase everything and type it again.

And I just did that right now, without really noticing until thinking about it. Go figure.

But anyway, the point is that I do aim for good grammar (minus capitals) and spelling on instant messengers.

i know the people i talk to and intend to stick to my reputation of being a git about spelling.

Of course I use backspace. I make mistakes all the time but I delete them so I don't embarrass myself totally. (I used backspace 3 times in this post, wait... now six... nine... twelve... thirteen? FOURTEEN TIMES). :P

Yeah, I use backspace. Mainly because I type so fast that using backspace is second nature.

The same goes for me as well.

My friends get annoyed easily when I keep correcting myself on MSN or I use grammar. It's quite funny.

I either use backspace to correct spelling and/or grammar, or press enter and correct it by following the message with another that says

'* [correction]'

I use that way as well. Sometimes, I may not notice a mistake and if I catch it after I send the message, I use that method.
