Rune told me he had cancer when it was first announced...
*nods*
Unfortunately it happens. It's always sad when it does... at least he won't be in pain now.

I just heard about it this morning.

It's so sad. I'm very interested in journalism, and Peter Jennings was one of the greats. He will be missed.

:o

I just now thought about it and hadn't seen him on TV for a while. I didn't even know he had lung cancer. :( This was a shock. He will be greatly missed, I know I enjoyed him on the ABC news.

Same here. He was at ABC for 41 years. I cannot remember a time when I did not see him broadcasting the news.

Truly a legend. I will never forget just how calm and collected he was during his broadcasting of 9/11. And, the hours he spent doing that.

67 is too young.

Peter Jennings was so kind. He died too young.Rest in peace.
Years ago, my mom was his technical assisant. Peter gave a signed copy of the Century to her.

In the article linked on the first page it says that he logged in 60 hours that week. I remember thinking during that week, God he must be so tired. But no matter what, he was still on the air telling us what was going on.
