(The entrance is more of a hole, not really a cave entrance.)
Amdir kept on walking. "Go in wha-" she started to say, then fell down the hole.
Thump--crack! Pain shot through Amdir's arm as she landed. She groaned.
Shenol, who was on Amdir's shoulder, shreiked in protest, trying to regain his compsure.
Get help! he ordered as he shot down the hole.
The Elf, Kisa, was in the clearing where we met!
Amdir looked up, and saw Shenol's eyes, bright red and rapidly whirling, as he darted down. "I think I broke my arm!" Amdir called. "But other than that, I'm fine. It seems to be some kind of cave. I'm going to explore it, and see if there's an exit."
She scrambled around, and found a medium-sized stick that had fallen into the hole awhile back. She held it up, and Shenol blew a small trickle of fire on it, just enough to make it a torch.
Amdir held the newly-made torch up with her good arm--she noticed it was made of pine, the sap would make it burn hot and fast, but it would do for awhile--and looked around at her surroundings. She gasped. Cracks were in the wall, but these were cracks she understood. "The Dragon language..." she whispered, looking around in awe.
She knew the language. It was in a secret passage at her old 'home', and in the book she had. So after awhile of trying to figure out what rune meant what, she had memorised the language. She read it, while going on.
Go to the beginning, to get to the end, to learn what is real, and what is pretend, to learn the truth of what is right, and save the children from their plight.
(I got the first half of the poem from a Pinnochio movie I have...
