There's a fruit more common in Arkansas (Yes, I like in the boonies). It is know as the Pluot. I remember what it was like before it was more thoroughly hybrid. They were huge, very juicy, and tasted great. Than, farmers started altering them. They became smaller and better looking just for show. They lost their fine texture, their sweet mild flavor, and a lot of their juice.
Hybrid fruits are good, but farmers ruin them for show regularly. Many farmers of America these days only look at the money and trade a quality product for one that looks good and sells fast.
I'm certain these Grapplefruits taste great, but they're probably bred to look good, which might mean they lost around 40% of their nutrition like just about everything else.
I've only recently tried pluots, but they're really really good. Profits are not going to kill the world, mate.
And grapes and apples can't interbreed, genetic modification or not. They're completely different plants. Grapples are not actual hybrids.
Of course, if Grapples are Red or Golden Delicious, and this is because they sell the best, okay, fine. Profits are going to kill the world. (I hear Golden Delicious is very tasty fresh, though.)
Do what you will; but I will hinder it if I may.
