This is an idea I've had for quite a while, and Forest_Majesty finally convinced me to post it...

Basically, it works just like a regular paint brush, but instead of paint ing your pet, it gives you the ability to rename it!

I'd like that. I kind of would like to rename a pet, I don't know. But it is a good idea to have that option.

Adam said back in an editoral thought that it couldn't be done. Because once a pet is created it really doesn't get deleted unless it goes to the pound or something. So the only way this would work is if somehow your original pet got put someplace and replaced with a pet exactly like it and with the same stats as the one you had. You would never know this happened though. And if you found out...*we would have to kill you*...

Well I guess they could create some kind of holding and deleting area for the pets we cloned. I really don't see how to rename them without actually cloning them. And then well if everyone started renaming their pets maybe you would get a name you wanted or one would open up as someone else renamed their pets. But then again you might not get the name you want. I mean there are millions of neopets and some names are just taken.

And have one million pets named Majal_Kita etc ?? No thanks, It'd be a HUGE strain on the database and a pain in the butt for people trying to find a pet...

Probably if they did they wouldn't allow you to duplicate names.
I'd give them a bit more credit then that.

Well of COURSE they would make it so that you could name it the same thing as another pet :major rolleyes:

i would love that, cuz it seems silly having a Shoyru Named Ox_Pteri_xO...

The only way I could see this as working is if the pet's old name was also mentioned somewhere on the lookup. That way, if a pet has been scammed, the scammer would have to 'repaint' twice just to get rid of any evidence of the old name. And if the PB is expensive, it might be more trouble than it's worth.

Or, you could even mention all of the previous names and when they were changed. That would solve a whole lotta problems.

I named my first pet after myself... and I wish I could change it!

I don't expect it to happen; it would be a huuuge strain on the database and all...but It's still a neat idea, I guess.

It would give all the pets a chance to be adopted (because face it, no one wants to adopt a pet named b00gy_32958295_neo). I'm all for it! Plus then I could change all my pets names that have numbers or underscores or the really stupid ones.

I'd really like this, 'cause when I joined Neopets a few years ago I was very uncreative.

So all of my pets except for the one adopted one have underscores and numbers all in their name. xD What I wouldn't give to be able to change a few of their names.

I think that if a person changed a pet's name, then it should be listed on the pet lookup, or something. And there would be a timer thing that would inhibit you from using a name-changing paint brush on the same pet sooner than <insert amout of time> after you've name-change'd it.

Plus, some pets I zapped got silly names, like Cho for a male

Now that's just silly don't you think? A paint brush changing your pets name?... I think if an item like that is ever created, (which I really doubt,) it'll be more along the lines of a special faerie, pen, card or a pile of forms... I admit to Neo being out there but I don't think even they're insane enough to create the "Name Brush".
