Corpse Bride carries on in the dark, romantic tradition of Tim Burton's classic films Edward Scissorhands and Nightmare Before Christmas. Set in a 19th century European village, this stop-motion, animated feature follows the story of Victor (Johnny Depp), a young man who is whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride (Helena Bonham-Carter), while his bride, Victoria (Emily Watson), waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colorful then his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love. It's a tale of optimism, romance and a very lively afterlife, told in a classic Tim Burton style.

Amazing.

I'm already obsessed with this movie and it's still weeks away - it's going to be brilliant, I know it, it would be nearly impossible for it to be a flop with that sort of cast behind it. And since I've already been on a Burton hype from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - well, watch out, Mes gets scary when she obsesses.

Even though I'm not really into the spooky, a bit eerie movies like Edward Scissorhands, this particular movie looks funny. ^^;

I don't know if I'll go see it. I haven't been totally motivated to see any movies lately. X3

Come on! Victor fending off a sword attack with a kitchen fork! What's not to love?

See it. I command thee.

Same here. Even the teaser put me in the same state of awe that I was in when I first saw Nightmare before Christmas.

Really fancy this one. I get out of school at 11:10 on Wednesdays, as does my friend Kirsten. Orange phone operator does 'Orange Wednesdays', where users get 2 tickets for the price of 1, and I'm on them.
Might go see it with her then.

My mom and I are such dorks - whenever we hear the Coprse Bride commercial starting ("What's This?"), we both drop what we're doing and scurry into the living room to watch. <3
Is it me or does Victor's "I'm not dead!" line sound oddly like Monty Python?

lol. I actually caught the commercial in china. :P But it's the same thing, just with chinese subtitles. xD

By the way, what IS Monty Python anyways? A movie? A show? I've never, ever, EVER known what it is, but have heard people referring to it.

Back on topic, I'm going to download a trailer. :P

He's an actor who does funny movies, at least from what I gather. I've only seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but that's where the "I'm not dead!" gag comes from. "I'm not dead...really, I'm feeling better...I think I'll go for a walk...!"
Anyways...-scurries back on-topic-

Monty Python was/is a group of mad Englishmen that produced such movies as the holy grail, as well as a running series called 'Flying Circus'. The members: Terry Jones, Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, and Michael Palin.

I'm dying to see this one... Not just because it's Tim Burton...

I saw the trailer months ago aswell... Had a set with screencaps from it a while ago too if anyone remembers.
Only thing is, the trailer seems to say it all, makes me wonder what will there be for the hour+ movie...

Terry Gilliam is American.
