so how about Dragonball Z?

Vegeta is Lord Darigan and tries to defeat Goku, who is Jeran.
Vegeta becomes a good guy and teams up with Goku to defeat Frieza, or Kass...
The episodes go slow, and so does the developement of neoschools

Millions of possiblities.

My point exactly. There are many shows/movies which have that theme.

The ring/orb is the central point of the NP/LOTR stories, and both have a medieval theme. The ring and the orb alike have the ability to corrupt, and both have massive amounts of power. Do you know of any other cartoons/movies/shows that have either of these two factors?

Side Note: This topic wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

I'll give you the Medieval theme however I remember when I used to watch a show called 'Recess' there was a similar theme in an episode. It was a little Medieval but the story was a nice kid named Gus was King for a Day (The Medieval part would be the King for a Day). He was all nice at first and than with the power of being king and his duties he became power hungry. He ended up abusing his powers. Therefore being king corrupted him and obviously he had alot powers over the playground. The King is the central point of the playground when it comes to creating rules, judging etc...

But I think you see my point. I gave you another cartoon which even had a Medieval touch to it. They're other cartoons/movies/shows which have this theme--it's not uncommon.

Edit: In regards to your sidenote I'm just stating how LOTR and Neopets aren't alike. They're some things which I know were influenced by LOTR (as Donna said) but that plotline is used everywhere.

There are SOME similiarities, you can't deny that! Well, you can I guess...

Ammer wrote:First of all the Pirate Shoyru on the avatar does not look a thing like Frodo, there are too many differences. Secondly the item 'Narsil' is not a Neopets item as I tried to search it on Neopets and Neoitems and found no results. Next the quotes which you used are simply a replacing game. You replaced the Neopet names with LOTR names. Finally, I am not sure about the blade factor for the Battle of Meridell and Lord Kass but viewing the following proof I would say there is no relation.

Maybe next time.

It's a joke, Ammer. XD Don't take it so personally.

Maybe I outta 'loosen up', but I really don't see how Neopets must've gotten the Battle of Meridell Plot from LOTR.

Well if you're going to talk about similarities between lotr and neopets how about when darigan became the bat thing after having the orb...that was pretty similar to how smeagol became gollum after having the ring. Image

Hmm, I didn't think about it, but now that you mention it, the fallen Darigan does look a lot like Gollum. It figures, though, because Gollum was big at the time the plot was put out.

Now that you mention it... o_O

And I've noticed that quite a few faeries look like MJ... the Faerie Queen (in the avatar) herself, for one.

I'm just suprised how serious people took this topic and I think it's silly that they did so!

And I do see a big similarity between the orb and the ring...

I don't think people are taking it "too" seriously. Maybe the words "Law suit" in the original post made it sound serious. You can't really judge how people take something by text posts. To me they're just enjoying discussing it.

And whoever said it is right. Back when it first started you could see some similarities with other stuff. But there allways is if you start digging :)

Has anyone looked at the Neoschool Class list? I'd be surprised if Mr.Leer and Mr.Lupus weren't based on Snape and Lupin from the HP series.
I can't find the link right now though >.<

As for LOTR, I think at least Morris and Borris were based on Merry and Pippen. I think Lisha's Frodo, but I have no idea who Kayla is... She isn't close enough to Lisha to be Sam, I don't think. -Shrugs-
Kass is Saruman, I think, and Darigan was Sauron, then Gollum.

And these two guys looks exactly the same! LAWSUIT!

Oh yes, Flotsam and Jetsam are a chapter in the LOTR... Or the Hobbit... either way... (Yes, I know they are actual words before anyone points that out to me, I'm just saying that they are also the name of a chapter in a book).

And there are more that I cannot think of.

I also saw that, in the Two Towers.

BTW these mathching are really getting humourous :roflol:

Or maybe they both just share triats of traditional/generic fantasy realms! omggaspwarble!~
