And by breaking, I mean I fractured my wrist. My new friend Mr. Cast will be around for 3-6 weeks, so it won't be easy to type.

As for how it happened, I was riding my bike, it hit something, and I fell off. My wrist broke my fall, but my fall broke my wrist... :(

It's called a buckle fracture, and it's a crack in and downward into one of the bones. I'm glad that it wasn't a really bad break, otherwise I never would have got home.

Maybe I should just learn to type with my feet... =P

I'm just popping in and out. Maybe I'll be back again.

Aww, that sucks. Was it the radius or the ulna? Or nearer to the radius or the ulna? Anyway, I've never broken anything. And I'm proud. I'm such a baby when it comes to these things; you're brave. And you seem to be handling this nicely. Good for you!

Eeek, I can't imagine how much that would've hurt. Glad to see you're ok, though.

It was the radius. The doctor said he wanted to be careful because it wasn't far from the growth plate. I'm going for some follow-up today, so I hope I have good news.

Ouch, that's gotta hurt. I've never broken anything before - the worst I've done is sprained my ankle and wrist multiple times. I'm actually surprised I haven't broken anything, considering how unco I am :P

Gone, forever.

Sorry to hear about your wrist, fractures are just as painful as a break.

I can type with my nose  lol probably faster then trying with your feet.

I broke my wrist once... well chipped the bone actually. And I still don't know how. All I remember doing was one of those child log roll things in gymnastics (when I was in grade two) and suddenly my wrist really started to hurt.
Then I got the next day off of school.
*nods*
Still, good luck with your break. Casts suck. Is it plaster or fiberglass? The plaster ones are the worse... they smell really really bad after awhile. At least the fiberglass ones look neat.

Yeouch! I'm really sorry! But it could be worse, so just be grateful you aren't in a full body cast or anything. ANyway, get well soon :)

Did you break the arm that you use most? That would suck. True, other people could do things for you, such as write or help you brush your teeth (it's extremely hard when I use my other hand) but it's like losing an arm. Well not really but kinda.

One word. Ouch.

Sorry to hear it. :( I hope your wrist gets in working order soon.

Ouch! That sounds painful. :(

My brother was fooling around on his bike when he was younger and hit something, then slid 10 feet on a gravelly road. He was all scraped up and needed stitches.

I always used to fall on my bike. We use to try to do stunts. My favorite was to get to the top of the hill, pump really fast, then put my feet up on the handlebars and glide. (WARNING: Do not do this. It is *not* safe. ;) ) Strangely, most of my falls occured when I was just riding regularly. ;) lol

I have a high tolerance for pain. (I've had four children, any mother could imagine what's that's like . ;) lol With my first child, the doctor told me not to go to the hospital yet because I wasn't complaining enough. ;) lol ) I don't like it when others are in pain, though. It used to not bother me as much, but I think having children has softened me. ;) lol

I hope you get better soon. You can learn to use your other hand to do things. I had to do that a lot in high school because I'd always jam my finger when we played basketball. ;) Best wishes for a speedy recovery! :)

Now I have a smaller cast, so I don't need to worry about typing. I'll still have to wear it for 3-6 weeks, and NO PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. =( It sucks, but it's better than nothing. I'm getting a month's supply of Tylenol for the pain, so I'll be fine.

I'm just popping in and out. Maybe I'll be back again.
