Roy fires the "LASER" at Donkey and Diddy Kong for -3 Damage each

Wed May 03, 2006 6:45 am

Man I'm confused - how come it took 4 hits to kill mario at 8HP? o_O

Wed May 03, 2006 9:33 am

He was high on shrooms.

Fox blasts Reno, Rude, Elena, and Koopa for -1 damage each

Round 10: Announcement 4
Round 7: Announcement 7

He was at -1 as of your attack but under the rules set out last game, those like Blk Mage and endeavourl are allowed to snipe kills from people like yourself and SL. It adds to the hecticness of the game. Heck, Samus was eliminated with -18 HP at the end of the round.

Still don't get it.. but hey it's probably some weird thing that only people who played last game will understand (or benefit) o_O

The pro-sniping rule is heavily influenced from the game. In SSBM, you can smash a character and send them out of the ring, but as you are doing that, another player can smash your victim on his/her way out and thus sniping the kill. It is very unfair to casual players, but I am trying to make this game as much like the source material. I have lost many a kill to in the real game this way, so I know where you are coming from.

Kirby uses Swallow on Joanna for -1 damage and uses her special on Sheik for -4 damage.

*Gasp* Is that in reference to me? Can I help it that I'm too nice to snipe kills? I could easily do so but I don't want to.

So... :P

Is there a limit though? I'm pretty sure that if you up+a smash someone with C. Falcon while they're pretty highly battered they go flying straight up into oblivion?

Maybe a time limit for sniping, like say 10 minutes after the killing shot? or someting similar?

Time limits were tried for other stuff. Those failed fast. In this case, everyone would be rushing for the kill right before the end of the round. A time limit will be unfair to other players. With the post system the way it is, snipers usually lose their chance to use good specials and weapons in place of the honor of the kill. It is not the matter of the strength of attack either. In the game, you can still lose a sure thing.

Unless I see a major flaw with a standing rule, they probably will not change. In this case, the rule stands since there is almost never a problem with it. To help you out, I could re-impose the release times for specials again. That was a rule change that worked pretty well.

Round 11

Anoohilator wrote:Ummm dunno do whatever works ;)

That is all I ask. Thanks for understanding (I hope). Like I said at the start of the game, there will be problems. I am more than willing to try to help. For more insight into the wonderful political debates about the game, reference endeavourl and my argument around Feb 13 - 15 last game. Now that was a fun one.

Story as of now:
Tomatoes do the body good. Although Sheik doesn’t have much of a body, being flats-chested and all, she wolfed down the Maxim Tomato like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately for her, not all of the red juice on her face was from tomato juice. Rude snuck up and punched her in the face while she was pigging out. I guess that is the way the tomato crumbles :P

Suddenly, the ground started shaking. A large peak formed. Death Mountain has arrived. Seeing the new stage, Reno and Elena both healed for +2 each.

1700 Rule: Regardless of when the last update occurred, you may make actions after 5PM your time zone. There is no need to wait for an update to make an action, but it is recommended. Any actions that break this rule will not count as a legal action and will be promptly (eventually) pointed out.

Preferred Attack format:[Character A] attacks [Character B] for -3 damage’ [Do not forget the underline, red, and bold.]
Code:
[u][Character A][/u] attacks [color=red][Character B][/color] for [b]-3 damage[/b]

Simple Attack format:[Character A] attacks [Character B] for -3 damage’ [Do not forget the bold.]
Code:
[b][Character A] attacks [Character B] for -3 Damage[/b]

Preferred Heal format:[Character] heals for +2 HP [Do not forget the green and bold.]
Code:
[color=green][Character][/color] heals for [b]+2 HP[/b]

Simple Heal format:[Character] heals for +2 HP [Do not forget the bold.]
Code:
[b][Character] heals for +2 HP[/b]

Chararacter Profiles:
Found here. Enjoy!

Round 11 Announcements:
1: The HRB will be Round 15 in replace of a stage. Here are the rules to those that have forgotten.
2: The Turks are probably the most dangerous entity in the arena right now. It might be good to target them. The usual +25 point each for their defeat is just a side manner.
3: Unlike other NPCs, the Turks do not lock the stage. Stage shifting will occur as normal.
4: To those not around last game those that have forgotten, kills are recorded at the end of the round (giving the target time to heal or other players a chance to snipe the kill), not when the victim reaches 0 or less. Just repeating for those still worried.
5: Pikachu is back with a vengeance! Rock on little rat. Rock on.
6: Again. Watch the Stage’s effect. It is tricky.
7: Wario cannot be targeted by Pikachu or Sheik.

This Round's Weapons:
HRB: A secret poll will be held to see who gets the bat and who gets attacked. The victim is automatically eliminated no matter how much HP s/he has left. Appears Round 15
1 Metal Box: User receives 1 less damage when attacked, but only deals -2 damage when attacking. Cannot be targeted by specials and is immune to Stage effects

This Round's Specials:
1) Pikachu: Skull Bash: -6 damage to one character and -1 damage to Pikachu
2) Sheik: Triforce of Wisdom: One target character cannot attack or heal for the round. Sheik is automatically immune to regular and weapon attacks.
3) Wario: Metal Wario: Automatic. Wario receives 1 less damage when attacked, but only deals -2 damage when attacking. Cannot be targeted by specials and is immune to Stage effects

This Round's Stage:
Death Mountain: Eruption! -2 damage to all characters that attacked or took no action at the end of the round.
Plus the Turks are still around.

This Period's Answers:
None

This Period's Trivia:
Here. Good luck.

Quick but important poll!
If you want to be polled (no need to enter), please post what timezone you are in, based on GMT. I am in PST which is GMT -8. This way I can keep track of double posts better. Thank you!

:P (It was more in jest than a real argument)

Anyway pikachu uses skull bash to hit fox for -6 damage and himself for -1 damage

Skynetmain wrote:Death Mountain: Eruption! -2 damage to all characters that attacked or took no action at the end of the round.

wouldnt this mean everyone (since no one heals anyway)

Wait, did my action count as Stage 11 or Stage 10? And I figgured that killing ment you didn't get the tomato and thus fox would get it. :( Oh well

Your action was in Round 10, and refer back to Round 10: Announcement 5. We had this exact issue last game. It is okay.

That is to teach everyone to heal rather than attack for at least one round (or use one of the defence items). Plus, I was thinking Ocarina of Time when making the stage. If you don't stop to protect yourself on Death Mountain, you will get hurt.
