Nope. I did start a new book yesterday. I wasn't worried that my friend was going to pick me up late, because my om was driving me in, I wasn't getting picked up. I was worried that we would leave late though, because I'm almost never on time for anything

From my experience with girls, the above is true (usually) and I think what made yours sound sexist was the bit where he jumped up on a chair, started screaming, and was described as effeminate...
