Flawless? ... so forgetting your lyrics isn't a flaw then? This is almost the semi-finals.
No one has room to forget words to their songs. Melissa was booted because of it and she was only in the top 10 (though I admit she didn't exactly have that much of a fanbase to begin with.) Katherine is in the top 4 now, where it means more than ever. Even Elliot, who was struggling when he was learning his first song, managed to get the lyrics correct. At this point in the show, that's basically huge marks off (though I didn't agree with Simon about her second song, I thought it was good, but her first was terrible).
There's absolutely no way that a reasonable or even slightly biased review of tonight would put Katherine on top. It's almost... uncanny. 2nd, maybe, but putting her way ahead of the pack is beyond comprehension. (and almost the realm of opinion).
Sorry

I didn't see her critique, and I jsut rewatched it and yea it wasn't flawless, but pretty darn close, and you know what? Yea I really do Katharine is better than all of them. And no it's not beyond comprehension.
I saw one performance last night and it was Katharine's and it was horrible. I mean, well, the Elvis one that is. It didn't show off any of her vocals and was just a pain to listen too.

I heard the word Elvis and my TV was off five second later.

For once, I agree with you. xD But I made myself sit through it in two-performer increments.

noooo, chris is gone

When Ryan said that, I waited for him to say,"No, I'm joking.."
Sorry, Dawn. I know you'll be upset by this.

You know... I havn't seen the show yet, and I honestly thought Ducky was joking when he posted that. Bah.
I havn't watched in awhile. But frankly none of them are deserving in my mind. Chris was the most deserving. And I take solitude in the fact that he will do well. It's probably best he won't be on the AI contract, it will give him more freedom. If he's willing to push, he'll go all the way, if not, well, he never did deserve it in the first place then.
But if Taylor wins... someone is going to lose their eyeballs.

I'll save you from the breaking down and crying hysterically for forty five minutes. I already did that in my bathroom.
He'll be okay. Hopefully Fuel still wants him. And if they do, then Fuel featuring Christopher Adam Daughtry will be the best band to ever hit this globe. And if Fuel doesn't want him anymore, then they can go and fade off into the nothingness that they will be.
And American Idol can crown Taylor Hicks as their next champion. Which they will. Katharine's fanbase beat Taylor once, but it's not going to beat the Soul Patrol again. Elliott isn't going to be around long either. And it will serve them right, because Taylor Hicks will flop bigger than Ruben Studdard. And Ruben Studdard flopped big.
So my set isn't going anywhere anytime soon, because as far as I am concerned, Chris is your next American Idol. He's going to outsell them all, and then I will be here, laughing at all of you Taylor fans crying because he's not fun anymore after American Idol finished its seaon.
I understand you all didn't want to read that essay. It's okay. It was mostly to make myself feel better so I can stop sobbing.

I am in complete shock after tonight

How can someone who forgot the words still be in the competition?! Hopefully Chris will get a great recording deal with someone. He has a great voice and is the best American Idol out of the bunch.
Hugs for Dawn

It's because her fanbase is freakin huge. She's gonna win, Dawn I'm so sorry. I do think he'l lbe big. But not as big as Kelly or Kat will be.

We were so shocked when Ryan said Chris was going home. I thought I'd heard wrong and asked Tim what he said. lol Well, I'm not too interested in the competition anymore. Out of who's left, I think Katherine is the best. I honestly thought Elliot was going home this time. It doesn't matter to me much now, though, because I thought Chris was the best of the four. When he sang it seemed like it was his concert or such and not just a competition show, at least to me.

I'm hoping that because he's out of the contest already, maybe someone will pick him up and he can start on a record sooner. AI probably has some kind of contractual thing where he can't until the show is done or such, though. I would fine it amusing if he could whip out an album and sell it with decent numbers before the Idol even started theirs.
As soon as his record is out, we're buying it. Of that, I'm positive.

I really don't care about the show but one thing about it does bother me. The word "Idol". I hardly think that just singing deserves the title of idol. Maybe if part of becoming an "idol" was required to do some kind of service to the community like being in the Boys and Girls Club or feeding the homeless would make them more worth of the definition meaning "an object of worship." But thier use of the word is fully covered in the sence of "One that is adored, often blindly or excessively" and "Something visible but without substance."
I really don't see why anyone cares about a reality contest show. It wont affect the actual lives of any of the viewers. And really, I think that crying for an hour about your favorite contestant being booted off is silly, mainly because none of you know him in person and the guy probably wouldn't give a hoot about any of you since he doesn't know you either.
That's just my 2 cents.

I don't think it's silly to cry if someone you wanted to win something really badly didn't. It's called sympathizing. In this case Chris had worked very hard to get that far and he was really good. His wife, children, bandmates, and friends all cheered for him and hoped he'd make it. His fans wanted him to win and get that recording contract badly. During the course of the show you learn about these people and you watch them on their journey and as they improve and progress through the levels. It's like if your friend tried out for the talent show and you cheered them on. If they lost, they'd be really sad and a friend should sympathize and that's what the fans feel. They wanted so much for him and now he's out of this contest. Of course, it doesn't mean that his music career is over, but it is a big letdown, expecially considering some of the other performances the other night. The way that darn show builds up stress before they say who's leaving, I'm not surprised people cry. It's a definite way to relieve all that built up tension.

Two things. Firstly, there are circumstances involved in me crying over him leaving that you could not begin to understand, and it's a good thing, too, because I really don't plan on explaining it to you. Secondly, it's like Jas said. This guy came into this competition because he wanted his kids to be able to go to college and live comfortably (he said this in an interview, I don't remember where). The minute his wife's ex-husband died, he stepped up to adopt her kids immediately. He has two great accomplishments (in his own words). Making the top twenty four on American Idol... and teaching his son to ride a bike. He pretty much drove his wife to tears when she was talking about how this was his dream and she wanted him to have it because of all he's done for her. So yeah. The ending of said dream kind of causes some sadness. And I lied. There are actually three things I would like to say. Thirdly, you don't watch this show. Thusfore, you don't get it. You're not going to get it. So I have no idea why you waste your time on this thread at all.
Fourthly (yes fourthly), it's people (like me) that vote for the full two hours or until the phone conks out to keep people in the competition. I would damn well think he would give a hoot about me and everyone else that does this, because it's kept him in the competition long enough to have a shot at a future.

I hate Idol now. This is the worst thing that happened since Ruben beat Clay.
