I'll be headed up to Terask II sometime this evening, and was wondering if Father's Sword is still worth using. Ive heard that it was downgraded, but couldnt find any place that was recently updated that could tell me what good it does now. Any suggestions?

FS is still usefull. Its damage was lowered, but so far as I've heard it is more consistent then SoA. If you don't even have SoA, then FS is DEFINANTLY worth using.

I usually go back and forth between the two. On the one I just gave you, if you go to "guides" in the sidebar, the first guide listed on that page is tremendous. It has level reccommendations for beating each boss that were completely infallable for me, whether I was on Normal, Evil or Insane. It has skill reccommendations too. Also on that site the maps of the towns have clickable icons that show which character (where) you go to for food, armor or weapons, which can save you a lot of running around.

Basically, I used Cerise's site -- the walkthrough, to (go figure) walk through most of it, but used the other site for level and skill reccommendations, and the town maps. Good luck to you and feel free to write me and I'm always happy to help however I can.

Its a bit of an easter egg. The sword does an unusual amount of damage versus KTII, and ONLY KTII. The spirit of Rohane's father strikes him, or somthing.

It used to do more dmg than SoA, but it was downgraded to be about the same, but a bit more consistant(From what I've heard).

I kept getting damage around 84-100 with Fathers Sword, but it did seem consistant. Even if its consistancy was my imagination, I still beat Terask II easily on Evil, so it doesnt hurt anything, and its fun to try. Im not sure if Id use it on Insane =/ Ive never gotten SoA though, so I couldnt compare them. Maybe my third time through? I'll probably be at Terask II again in a few days.

I used that site the first time I played because it had little commentaries about the different places, and was more specific on where to go and what to do next. The Lost Desert was wildly confusing for me. It was really useful until I got more used to the game

From what I can tell, IDNQ has not been updated in...forever. Seriosly. I stopped depending on it ages ago for NQII info. I use goecities.com/neoquest_2, its got bunches more than IDNQ! ^^

Does anyone know (roughly) what kind of damage SoA does to Terask II? Because I was using FS against him last night and it was pretty terrible, doing a max of about 89 damage.

Well, their last news post is dated "05.06.05", which should tell you somthing. >_> I havn't seen changes to any of the guides either. I belive news posts are usually made when chunks of new stuff is put up anyway.

Allbeit, the geocities site hasn't been updated much recently, but thats because they have so much up, there isn't much more TO put up. They have maps, a "Getting started guide"(for the newbie who's never touched NQ before) a breakdown on the skills, and a whole LOT more. Not to mention a forum, though it isn't that active, you do eventually get responses.

I always sell all my redundant weapons etc.. doesn't everyone.. I don't sell because I want the money but because the list becomes too big.

I totally sold FS. I sell everything that I don't need, because I've had it happen quite a few times (when I played NQ on my past three accounts, never got past Act 3) that I didn't have enough money to upgrade my weapons. And it gets too hard to organize, with 4 characters, each has two accessories, it's crazy.

I think I'm overtrained. I'm in Act 3, on my way to pick up the 2nd medallion piece, I just saved Lifira, have all 4 characters, they're level 39. Is that overtrained?

I totally sold FS. I sell everything that I don't need, because I've had it happen quite a few times (when I played NQ on my past three accounts, never got past Act 3) that I didn't have enough money to upgrade my weapons. And it gets too hard to organize, with 4 characters, each has two accessories, it's crazy.

I think it's best to hold off selling any unwanted weapons of potions until the very end of the game for the first two levels. If all the members of your party die, you go to your last resting spot and lose half the gold. If you have sold the weapons, half the profit you made from the sale is lost as well. And since lugging around 10 different sets of armor and weapons doesn't impede the ability to move or fight for any of the characters, the extras are a bit of extra security in case of an emergency like using up all the Jhudora's Lifeforce Potions and Hurricane Potions then dying fighting Terask. It's much less tedious to sell of a bunch of weapons to buy more potions than it is to be fighting chaos nimmos and dimensional faeries for a few pieces of gold when you are already maxed out on levels.
