Good movie. I liked it, and I haven't seen the other two.

Kitty (I think that was her name) is my hero.

I saw it yesterday, and it was great! Definitely my favorite out of the three. Best line of the movie? "I'm the Juggernaut, [censored]!"

Haha! For sure.

I agree. I liked the movie. Admittedly I didn't watch the other two, so I don't have anything to compare it on, but by itself I have to say it was pretty nice.
*thumbs up*

And rawr at no-longer-mystique :P

20 year prior Xavier and Magneto were BLOODY TERRIFYING. They were almost as waxy as propaganda Stalin (props to anyone that actually understood that last bit...)

It was like *introduce new character*....next scence: *kill that character*.

Even the ones that didn't get killed were crap. I mean, all angel does is appear several times and flap around a bit. Considering that they started the movie with him shaving his back perhaps some more character development could of been good. The character development all unravelled in the end anyway:

Blah blah blah rights blah unethical blah we are not a disease blah blah *STAB MAGNETO WITH NEEDLES* blah blah more drivel blah blah *UNHOLY RESSURECTION OF XAVIER*

The 'evil brotherhood' mutants were terrible. It should have gone like:

Magneto: they plan to force the 'cure' on all of us. We must rise up and fight.
Mutants: *cut arms because we are all emo goths in leather with a great many piercings*
Magneto: *Flings craft knives up into the ceiling* Stop that! We must fight!
Mutants: Bring us some glow sticks and techno and we'll talk

That was quite frankly the most poorly put together yet expensive movie I have seen in a loooooong time (i.e, since the last comic book movie probably :P )

Did Wolverine cry out 'ROOOOOGGGGUUEEE!' after stabbing Jean?!?

Unicron vs Apocalypse! Combine the upcoming transformers flop with the innevitable X-Men 4 !!!2111

The WORST DANG PART OF ALL was the Kamehameha scene. Damn. That was whack.

OMG yes. As soon as they were going to fight, I was like, "y'all better do the friggin'... AW CRAP you resorted to the dang kamehameha crap." Button smash!!!!1111

I hope they have an X-men 4 because I thought they all were good. And at the end of the third movie the metal man (I forgot his name) could move the chess pieces. ;)

Tue May 30, 2006 9:26 pm

SPOILERS in this post!!

Christopher, thank goodness I wasn't the only one who was majorly let down.

Things that annoyed me other than the ones previously listed:

- What's with Magneto doing dumb stereotypical villain things that don't make sense what-so-ever (which didn't happen in the previous films)? I mean... if you can move an entire bridge, then why even bother having the fight that happened at the end of the movie? Just drop the bridge on them!
- Needles are made of metal. 'Nuff said.
- Storm still sucks. Ugh.
- Phoenix was the lamest thing ever. She didn't even have an objective. She just stood there with a lame stare. She wasn't scary at all.
- Wolverine's skin was flying off but his pants were fine?
- She could've easily killed him. Lame scene!
- I love now no one cared that Cyclops was missing until after Jean started acting scary.
- Juggernaut is not technically a mutant, so Leech shouldn't really have an effect on him.

That's all I can think of for now.

I wasnt the only one who thought that then

And I have hopes for Transformers, if only because its getting so far away from the abysmal G1 Cartoon.

Apocalypse VS Unicron.... o_O
Hehehehehe...

Good but not great. It could have been great, but it was WAY too short. The plot was pretty solid but it could have used A LOT of fleshing out.

SPOILERS BELOW (although you should expect spoilers in here anyway):

Characters that really didn't have any development that I thought would: Warren, his father, Dr. Rao and Colossus. Stryker was a very well-written villian in the last movie, and I expected the same for Mr. Worthington and Dr. Rao (though to a lesser extent for her).

Kitty got decent treatment (as decent as Bobby in the last film) and Beast and Callisto got as much development as Nightcrawler did in the last one, both having roles that are basically on par with Nightcrawler (i.e New addition to the teams, have an actual role to play int he plot).

Arclight, Psyloche, Juggernaut and "Kid Omega" (Who was really Quill... Kid Omega was a telepath) were not fleshed out at all but it wasn't a huge deal because they were like the Toad, Sabertooth and Lady Deathstrike of the movie.

Jean barely said a word, and after she goes with Magneto you totally loose any inner-struggle that would have been a whole lot cooler. And Rogue was absent most of the movie. And she actually went through with the cure? How lame was that? They should have had Leech temporarily dampen her powers so she could kiss (hey wait, she didn't even do that!) Bobby and then realize that as much as she would love to do that forever, her powers are who she is and Bobby would say he wouldn't have it any other way.

Scott's death was pretty lame, Jean's could have been more dramatic (like Rogue's "death" in the first one) as could the Professor's (actually his was pretty cool but for some reason something felt lacking).

In Summary: Good plot, but the movie could have had 40 mins or so extra so that everything didn't feel so rushed and short. Acting was pretty good by main cast, but a bunch of the new characters who filled a certain "type" that can be found in the previous movie were not as developed as those characters in the previous movie.

Also, who else thought Jean would regain sanity and put back together the Professor and Scott at the end?

OH! And what happened after the credits? I was wondering why people kept sitting there.

I saw the movie this weekend and I really enjoyed it. I hadn't seen the other movies, though, and I just decided to go along with a friend to this movie for his birthday. Many of the things that annoyed others sort of did the same to me. Too many characters that would seem important were not fleshed out at all.

Colossus threw Wolverine twice, carried a TV and was shone in battle for a few seconds, though he was a part of the "team". That sort of bugged me.

Angel's lack of presense did as well, but then I realized that he seemed to be the type of character that is built up in one movie and made a much larger character in the sequel (though this is going on movie number four...)

I also felt that while Phoenix's doings were awesome, and well done as well, there just wasn't that much to her. She tried to "get jiggy" with two characters and then owned pretty much everyone in the movie, but at the same time, that's about all she did.

Now, I never read the comics (well, maybe a few), or saw the other movies, but I have to know, was Arclight's gender always meant to be so ambiguous? I already thought that the character was a woman (I had no idea of her character name at the time), but I started having my doubts as she began to look more and more like a Prince clone in goth clothes at the movie went on (not to mention, all she did was grunt). That's the thing that REALLY bugged me, because I ended up trying to seal all doubt in my mind of her gender until the point where it was actually mentioned. After having a discussion with my friend about it after the movie, he agreed on that note.

Overall, though, it was a great movie for someone that had no previous standards set up for it (I expected a pure action movie, and well, that's what I got) Now I just need to go back and watch the others...

X Men 3

I think it was a good film - however it was not overly exciting though :--/

I am happy they are making more X Men films too :)

Lets seee... after the credits...
Cut to a scene in a room that has one of those hospital bed...
That nurse-like lady comes in to check on the patient.
The patient says something to the effect of "Its good to see you again"
The nurse-like lady looks at the patient again, startled and manages to say surprisingly, "Charles?!?!"

*cut*
