What avi player have you used on the files?

Sorry? If you mean what video players I've used.. I've used er.. Windows Media Player only.

And if knowing what digital camera I use would help, I use Canon Digital Ixus 400 and I play videos recorded by a Fujifilm Finepix regularly.

WMP doesn't do .avis for me, get VideoLAN... Not sure hwere to find it though.. Google it....

As for my problem...

My AIM takes about htree seconds to send messages, maybe longer, and sometimes it freezes for abotu five seconds, and then gets better.. ANy ideas?

My computer plays AVI files fine, just not the videos that are recorded from digital cameras.

Wayne: If you're sure it's the codec, try downloading the K-Lite Codec Pack.

Ryu: Your system is probably running low on memory.

843: He needs to alter his Internet security settings in IE. Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Security tab.

In IE, go to Tools> Internet Options > Security tab. xD

It's probably low on memory, like Soujiro said. I've had it happen to me. Just try restarting your computer.

He has changed his security up and down but still doesn't work

Back when I had Windows 95, whenever I Shutdown my computer, the shutdown process would begin, and eventually the tower would turn off by itself.

I've had XP for a while, and when i shutdown I always have to do it manually. That is, the shutdown process begins, but then that "It is now safe to turn off your computer" screen comes on and I have to hold the tower button to turn it off.

Can XP do what the 95 did? And if so, can you tell me how?

I've had XP for a 7 months now and you have to turn it off manually. It won't shut off automatically.
