I bet there wouldn't be as many side accounts if they allowed you to have more than 4 Neopets. I don't know why they limit you to 4. I know the "official" reason but that's a pretty flimsy reason IMO.

I thought that you could send items TO your side account IF it's for gallery purpose...but then...they have made the gallery thingy now so that seems kind of pointless. There really isn't any NEED to have a side account anymore, unless you want to be a member of more than one guild or have like...eight neopets.

Well, there was never a NEED to have a side account.

But there are still legitimate reasons to have one. For instance, if you want a gallery of Neggs /and/ a gallery of slushies. Or, as you've pointed out, more than 4 pets.

Well, I currently have 15 pets, and that was because I got a little carried away while pound surfing. But I really doubt I'll ever
have enough money to finish a second gallery of stuff when I'm trying to make a gallery of petpets on my main.

If you can't make neopoints on your side account, how do you increase the size of your gallery? Can you send neopoints over for that reason?
Personaly, a single account is good enough for me. Less hassle.

Well, a reasonable person would say that if the money came from your main, then you could be collecting at least as much interest if it were still in your main, so why not? But maybe you should ask the editorials...

If neopoints don't change accounts, then there isn't a problem. As mentioned, it's a more legitimate way of increasing shop/gallery sizes, or buying petpets for your side pets. There isn't anything wrong with that. But joining plots, or things like the Altador Cup on side accounts, I would stay away from because you don't need those to get the NP you need.

You aren't allowed income on your side accounts.

You CAN however, make all the money you need on your main, give items to your side via the 'give to neofriend' option, then use the trading post to transfer NP to that account.

Stuff can go to and from your side accounts, but you can't make any profit on your sides. =3

i only use sides to store pets.. and collect avatars that don't earn me any income while doing so. Just in case I get frozen for no reason.

Is it possible to turn yourself in? I worry because I didn't know they had changed the rules and I'd been doing the stock market and collecting interest on that account for a long time.

The site says that you can't have two "main" accounts but, technically you can. Different emails, names, ages. As long as the details are different you can have multiple main accounts.

Its the moving of items and money from one account to the other that neopets doesn't like. Doing dailies on two accounts isn't going to get you frozen unless you transfer stuff. There was an editorial about it about 2 years ago.
