I've been thoroughly trashed by the new restock system. I'm getting banned after about an hour and it only took 20 minutes one day at the Igloo; whereas, I'd been able to refresh only when I absolutely needed to and hadn't been banned since the first month I started restocking in January under the old system.

Now that the cup is over and people have had some time to relax, I expect many of those people are starting up again. Also, people who'd given up after the change, may finally be returning again. I haven't noticed much of a change aside from only being able to make 10k or so as opposed to 100k when I bother. I never restocked in the Magic shop, but I did finally go there a couple days ago and saw an island acara morphing potion, but I fumbled on the haggling since I'd honestly never expected to see anything worth that much.

I used to restock a long time ago, but didn't have the time to since this summer. I just started again, and I've had a lot of luck. I've made almost 100K in my shop each day, but I know what you mean about the magic shop. I've seen some morphing potions, but they always go too fast. (I've gotten to the haggle page once) Gnorbu morphing potions seem to show up often, but now they don't give any profit. I've seen a plushie jetsam morphing potion once, but I had no chance. I've been having those nasty ads that cover the whole screen, so you have to refresh it again and miss some stuff.

I never got banned, I have four or more shops open at a time. I think the whole banning system is based on how much you refresh in one shop.

What do you mean "it only took 20 minutes at the Igloo"? You can't be banned from IGS. There is only that waiting period inbetween buying.

Sometimes I wonder how everything works. I have seen 0 (zero) of an Item left at IGS I was still able to grab; and just yesterday there were 2 of something left I was denied twice (it told me there were none left) even after I obviously saw it again and tried again. Then I was able to grab the next thing fine. Weird.

And my never ever ever seeing a MP in the Magic Shop is odd, me thinks.

EDIT: Also, mogster500, I am always impressed when I hear people can make 100k a day in profit, reselling. How do you do it? The only time I ever made that much was the ONE day they changed the restocking system recently and IGS was restocking triple-fold it seemed. And even then I had to refresh all day and into the night. I even got some "decent" stuff (by my standards selling an item worth over 5k is a "good sale" to me). How do people regularly grab things (even find them in Neopian Shops) worth 10s and 100s of thousands of NP? Kudos to y'all. Either have better luck, uber-fast computers and/or superhuman reactions or are on a different restocking system I am on, LOL. :P

Ironically the best/worst time for shameless self-promotion. Pity me. "Check my shop!" This is all I get from the IGS, lol. Oh yeah, and the Kad hat is overpriced for a reason; it is how much stolen from me thus far (keeping a running tally), getting hit 3 times in a week once, JUST when I was taking money from my Till and JUST about to go to the Bank to deposit it, and only each time holding just over 10k it must have been (most of my usual daily profits). :( Grrrr, I will never feed those whiny Kads no matter how cute they are!! Rather feed the Gourmet Foods to my pets anyway.

Darn, I am really not even off topic, but just on too many. Sorry folks!

Edit Ad Infinitum :P Half of restocking, to me, is refeshing the (regular) Wiz 5-9 times to find a low enough price to actually make a sale! :roflol:

I didn't know that, so I suppose that's where I'll stick to from now on. But, when I refreshed there for 20 minutes and went to another shop, the chocolate shop in particular, after one refresh all the items disappeared. I checked some other shops and eventually the Tiki Tack and nothing was there either. I hadn't been restocking anywhere else and unless the bans last longer than 24 hours, I don't know how else I could have been banned.

Yeah, well that is the nature of IGS. I can't say about other shops, though I have heard of occasional instances where there is literally nothing there.

At IGS, there is mostly usually nothing there, hehe. That is the "game" of it, I suppose. Random refreshing usually pulls up a screen of items that go fast as hotcakes, within 20 seconds, much less 20 minutes. But during that 20 minutes may be many restocks or few. So as soon as you see *anything* loading, you just grab the first best thing you see and hope to get it. Wait and repeat as long as your sanity and clickie hands allow, lol.

Yeah, I've always been restocking there, but I just didn't know it didn't ban you. I'd always start with the chocolate shop, then dash over to the igloo.

That is sort of what I like about IGS, it has always restocked "randomly" and the only "ban" is the one everyone gets after buying any one item (love the no haggling too hehe) "Wah! Give others a chance ... " :P

Lasts a few minutes (3 or 4 I think, I always try to count how long but in my frenzy of trying to go back and buy I can never keep track of course).

I appreciate it but hate it since I can often try for 2 or more items in an IGS restock. But I realize it also stocks so seldom and such odd items and so few of them, with so many other people trying to grab it's only fair. :battar:

EDIT: For that matter, maybe the regular shops should restock more like IGS. You can even add counters or timers for people buying with the same whiny message "Wah! Give others a chance to buy an MP ... " :D

So far I am getting about the same number of items from the shops. The new shop retocking system hasnt really made a big difference to me once I got used to it. Still manage to snag some rare items despite having a six year old computer. Hate to admit it but sometimes set the alarm for 2am(central US time) and really clean up.

Maybe that last Healing Potion XVIII is bought by a newbie on an Earth Faerie quest?

Re: Premium
It does not give you any advantage when it comes to restocking. The extra REs (they're not *real* REs) are just a handful of neopoints once or twice a week (I make about 30 times as much *daily* from games). The only useful advantages from Premium are the disappearing of ads, and the SSW which saves you some refreshing at the regular SW.

Shop Till

You currently have 104,583 NP in your till.

Just if you guys don't believe me: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v337/ ... 0/shop.png

(I don't remember how much more it would be, since I sold two more early yesterday and cleared my history)

I erased the names for privacy.

I don't restock for long, just get enough to fill my shop and maybe a little bit more. The multi shopping works wonders, I don't seem to miss much. I never got an unbuyable though, but I did get a pinata, which was quite a surprise. I've given up on the magic shop though, I seem to be better with the shops that I use now.

The new restock system might not stop autobuyers, but it will be easier for tnt to spot them. It is rather suspicious if a person is able to restock, lets say, 2/3 morphing potions a day under the new system. Under the old system it wouldn't. People could just claim they have a very fast internet connexion or are very skilled.

It's probably harder to restock because the summer holiday has started and the cup is over. People have more time to restock now.

BTW, do the shops all rs at the same time under the new system? I haven't really restocked for a while.

I actually like the old system better...i'm afraid getting RS banned...(or AKA can't concentrate restocking due to watching TV at that time).

But i'm all good when there's no good TV shows...and with my mouse fixed. (my mouse thinks: single click = double click :()

Beg your pardon, didn't mean to offend, and I was not starting a rumor. I was stating my opinion and I have read that petpage 2 or 3 times, thanks.

I have read more than that, too. Check this Premium member's blog:

http://qbureau.wordpress.com/tag/neopets/premium/shh/

Your "handful" of NP from extra REs are not "fake" but I have a feeling they have a very real effect on the Neopians don't have Premium. I would love to win a handful of NP in the Lottery just once. (I have given up hope on that now that I realize that Premium members have better "luck" there and seem to win it so often, it is no wonder I cannot.) I could care less about a SSW since I am used to refreshing the regular Wiz several times before I price things. I think that Premium members DO have an advantage when it comes to surfing a speedier site (ad-free) and this also has a great effect on whether or not non-Premium members get a chance to restock some of the more popular items that go so fast because of this.

I still think Premium members should have a separate Neopia in a way, separate Lottery, separate restocking systems (and restocking systems all around much like the IGS with time limits after purchasing perhaps).

There's no reason to deprive Premium members of what they are already used to, but adding more "perks" to balance the free site might help.

Just my 2 cents, I don't mean to offend or create any argument or rumor.

Mon Jul 17, 2006 7:34 pm

The lottery is not the same lottery that is found on the site. They aren't winning hundreds of thousands or millions of np. For the short period of time I had premium I "won" the lottery three or four times and I think the most I won was around 400 np. Not seeing the ads is quite frankly the only reason I'd paid for premium, and I quit because it still wasn't worth the $8 when I could do the same in firefox, ie, and opera with little noticible difference.

Mon Jul 17, 2006 7:47 pm

How do you know for sure is not the Neopian Lottery proper? o_O

If this is true, then I don't see any reason TNT couldn't separate a lot of things similarly. If it is not true, then my suspicions are not unfounded.

"Rumors" are only rumors until proven true, anyway. I wish TNT would address more questions about Premium in the Editorial or something.

Even so, back on topic, I don't know how ABs work or if they can be stopped, but I think restocking TRULY randomly (as in un-ordered unpredictable items -- but from that Shop "category" of course-- in a non-predictable way or at unordered times) and creating a time limit until the next purchase might help. In my opinion there really is no reason to restock anything that orderly. It only makes things more predictable to scammers and creates a disadvantage to the average user that can't or won't create a life schedule around Neopets "typical" restocking times.
