Funny thing is that I can buy a pack, on clearance, here for 25 cents and each pack contains one code card. Why would anybody buy the old code cards for over $1 apiece?

do u buy them since they are so cheap so u can get the rare item codes? i dont know who sells them in new zealand. im sure a card place would but probably for full price.

JasEdit: Fixed. Please becareful not to drink near your keyboard from now on. ;)

I have found a few retailers around the place (Australia) but all cards are outrageously expensive. Something like $7.

Wow, this sounds good. No Neopets merchandise or real items are sold here in the Netherlands, and I don't have much use for them anyway (plushies would be great, if only they looked more like the online pets). I'd wouldn't mind paying $1 for a virtual item code just to get the Space Faerie challenger (which in turn gives one of my favorite avatars). Do I need an Ebay account, or is a credit card sufficient?

The Rare Item Codes have been sold on eBay for ages... and TNT hasn't said a thing about it being "illegal." Even when they occasionally mention in the news that it's against the rules to sell Neopoints, they never mentioned Rare Item Codes.

u mean theres a code in every pack?i've not actually bought any packs before.and how do we know if this code is "rare"?

If anyone here is actually after a code keep in mind that the only codes that work for the Space Faerie (if that's what you're aiming for) are the Rare Item codes, the TCG codes don't work. The Rare Item codes, from what I've seen, are usually much more expensive than the TCG codes as well so just make sure you know what you're buying before making a bid :)

TCG codes aren't the same as Rare Item Codes? o_O
But what about the rare items that come from TCG codes then? Aren't those supposed to be somewhat 'rare'?

When I bought a neopets magizine there was a free pack of cards inside.
You were supposed to win anything from a packet of gravel to a million neopoints. If I remember correctly I got 3,500 neopoints. I have heard of people winning paintbrushes, but I bet thats "rare".

I see no difference between buying a code or buying an unopened pack of TCGs and getting a code. Yes, every pack has one.

TCG code cards look like this:

Rare Item codes look like these:

If you are looking for the Space Faerie BD challenger, you need the codes redeemable at the Grundo Warehouse. These are the notebooks, sticker packs and magnet sets. I bought mine from Neopets on Ebay. They occasionally have lots of items that ALL have Reedeemable Codes. If you are interested, check out the Stuff page and click on Plushie Sets or search for username: neopetscollectables on Ebay.

Thier packages change often. I bought one that was all stickers, notebooks, and magnet sets at a much lower price than a package that included plushies and paid about $1 a code, with the actual item as a bonus ;)

Neoitems.net has a list of items that can only be gotten through Rare Item Codes, but you can also get many other (less desireable and more common) items.

Oh, and Toywiz sells the codes themselves. Seperately from the cards they are printed on.

Those are the Rare Item Code prizes.

TCG Code prizes can be found Here on Neoitems.net.
