hey, don't give them ideas! That would mean we'd only get one set of prizes for the price of two plots, 'coz once the altador prizes were recovered, wouldn't they also be the prizes for doing the mini-plot to get them?
whoever said that they rock at mah jong doesn't seem to know about REAL mah jong, where you've got four players and it's a bit like bridge and a bit like poker, only with extra rules about how many points you win based on how you play.
Yeah! Go real MahJong! i played that every day at lunch. all my wins were all very low value, and very easy, but it still rocks the lame matchy mahjong stuff.
and what with the mj, you can only think it's oriental

I'm out of the country for a month, and I don't miss a thing. Amazing! I was hoping prizes would be out before the next plot *sigh* At least I haven't missed the start.
On the bright side, I LOVE Mah-jongg!

I belive this may be abit outta place but the captain reminds me of Attila the Hun from Disney's Mulan movie...
Just my random thought...

Anyone notice?
Hobin: "Yeah, lets see you laugh when I sail you into a storm."
Next thing...they're in a storm. Cooincidence? Red herring? We shall see...

Y'know Hoban, the guy who fell overboard? Well, the last time we see him he's sort of sneaking along the back, and it looks like he's got some sort of scroll with him. Treasure map perhaps?

How observational!!
I just read the frontpage of PPT. They said it's most likely NOT a plot because the HW plot hasn't been released yet. Was it definite that there would be a HW plot?

Hoban's striped red-and-green striped cap (and his little scarf) reminds me of Where's Waldo's red-and-white striped cap.
Somehow I doubt that observation has any relevance to the plot, but still I am amused and vaguely want TNT to create a flash game called "Where's Hoban?"
...which would probably violate many many copyrights and waste time better spent making prizes, but still.
I'm thinking I'll participate in this plot. Never really understood the thrill of plots/wars. Can you make money from a plot/war (as in, a reasonable profit after accounting for the nps/training/time you put into a plot/war)?

I said I rock at mah jong, but it was more of a joke (the whole.. me having to ask questions about it thing)

If you're training and buying weapons specifically for a war, do not expect to make a profit. By this I mean you will not earn more than what you spent on codestones and weapons. However, if you've already sunk your np into a bd pet, then there's really no reason just to sit out. Plots are a different matter entirely. I'd say that if I had spent the same time restocking, before the change, I would have earned the 4.5 mil I sold my rotl for if not more. If I had still been on dial up or wasn't a restocker, I'd have made about 2 mil.
Ultimately, it all depends on TNT. Aside from the LDP, they've had a horrible track record of wars/plots and prizes. The last two before the LDP earned me about 5k np. Since we still don't know what we're getting for the Altador Cup and Plot, it's hard to say.

Even if you can make the same amount doing something else, it's nice to do something fun and different once in a while. The plots can be pretty exciting sometimes, especially near the end (just look back at the old Altador Plot threads).

My 2 cents:
I think that the comment about Mystery Island was meant simply as a hint about the course the ship was taking. I doubt however that Mystery Island would be the final destination, because that would be too obvious, and Mystery Island has already had its own plot.
Other immediate possibilities include Lutari Island (if the ship continues on in a line from Krawk Island past Mystery Island) or Altador. The Lutari possibility would make sense because it's new and still can't be accessed by non-paying users. The Altador possibility would make sense because... well... we didn't get any prizes, and maybe this is how they were supposed to be delivered to Altador. (Keeping in mind that unfortunately, they lost most of their shipment during that storm).
More far-fetched possibilities invove them travelling East through the body of water between Terror Mountain and the main Neopian continent.
============================
EDIT:
Having said all that, another completely different possibility is that they *CAME* from Lutari Island and were heading to Mystery Island for some reason. This at least would explain *where* the ship came from, and would still leave open the possibility that they were ultimately trying to get to the Haunted Woods.
============================
EDIT 2:
Given that there are already shops set up on the boat, I'm guessing that the ship will be a permanent feature of Krawk Island from now on... Which makes sense for the plot... The Captain will just use their inability to set sail as the reason why we're doing all the leg work for them.

And another member with 2 cents. ME!
Personally I don't mind how long Altador prizes take. Maybe it's because I'm a log-on-chat-do-plot-log-off person and therefore not concerned with the market, but there you go.

I'd welcome a CG plot anytime before HW. By the way, is it officially confirmed a HW plot would come right after Altador, or did everyone just get it into their heads due to signs they see on the site?
Fri Aug 04, 2006 9:25 am
Wow I feel totally lost, what's this about a HW plot? How does everyone know that's what's supposed to be coming next?
Fri Aug 04, 2006 9:51 am
Because the Haunted Woods is the current TCG? If you click on the TCG Album link in your inventory, then the checklist, you can see all the cards in the newest expanision. I believe they've mentioned it in the Editorial a couple times as well.

meh... I'm on dialup and it's taking forever for the flash story to load... I'd wait but my dial-up account is prepaid, so I (literally) can't afford to.
that aside, this should be interesting. i'd like to see the altador plot prizes, but a good story is always welcome. Btw, Kou-Jong! is located in "Neopia central" (as opposed to 'Krawk island' or "cyrodrake's gaze') hmmm...
Here's a question though- isn't the cryodrake a "retired" petpet? I know I read somewhere it's been replaced with the meowclops? I've only been playing for 3 months, so i could be wrong...
Fri Aug 04, 2006 10:53 am
Okay I haven't read everything about this yet but I just thought I'd point out, that, when I first read it on NP before coming here I immediatly thought it was a new plot because of this little phrase...
Ah ha! So there is more going on! Clever one, you are. You hesitate for a moment, though, if only because you remember previous times you've offered to help a strangers. Volcanoes... and spike traps... and flooded cities. *shudder*
All related to former plots
