A lullaby I absolutely HATED.

Los de Triqui

o_o It was really weird, and I forget the words.

I REMEMBER THAT SONG! My mom used to sing that too, but when I was very, very small. She'd sing while playing with my hands to make me laugh:

Aserrín, aserrán
Los maderos de San Juan
Piden queso piden pan
Los de roque alfandoque
Los de rique alfeñique
Los de trique triquitrán
Triqui triqui, triqui tran
Triqui triqui triqui tran
Aserrín, aserrán
Los maderos de San Juan

My parents took existing songs, little kid ones that I would know, and improvised lyrics to go with them and make me laugh.

LOL How wierd. But I think instead of los maderos it was maderitos in my song. xD I thought it was just a family thing because NO ONE had ever heard of it. :P

EDIT: *Wikipedias it*

*feels dumber* xD

My mom didn't sing lullabies to me much(though I can remember her singing "Hush Little Baby" once or twice), but there was a book of poems we used to read together. My favorite poems were The Highwayman(weird choice for a six-year-old, but I was never constrained by any desire to be normal) and The Pirate Don Durk of Dowdee, which my mother has since decided is Jack Sparrow's alias.

My mom always made up lullabies. Most common was some variation on this:

Go to sleep,
Go to sleep,
Go to sleepy,
Little baby.

When you wake,
You pat-a-cake,
Ride a funny little pony.

Go to sleep,
Go to sleep,
Go to sleepy,
Little Chrissie.

Bit silly, but it put me to sleep.

It isn't a lulliby, and I've never heard it anywhere else, but I know its a real song. Goes something like this:

(something)
All I want is a little pony
Ching Chong ching chong chinga chong ching
(something)
All I want is to go for a ride
All around the country side
With a Ching Chong ching chong chinga chong ching
(something)
And I will take this little Pony
To the county fair
And all of the little kids
Will stop to stare
As I ride by
With a Ching Chong ching chong chinga chong ching

Yeah, I don't remember it very good.

my parents, especially used to sing me Neil Diamond songs. That's actually one of my earliest memories, being danced around the living room to "Song Sung Blue"
