Heh, I'm not proud of my names anymore. Just the ones I don't keep/use/never got to use because some evil person took it years before me.
Malkavian is one I'm proud to have, uh, stolen. But someone get it before me, so I use a similar version for my petpet, instead.
Also, Roquaid, which went up for adoption. I actually thought of that one by myself. ^.^
Usually, when I choose names, I steal them from songs. They usually last longer for me... o.o;;

I am a proud owner of Caitsith_the_Demon, Herne_the_Ixi, Mafdet_of_the_Night and Skywise_the_Elf

I'm proud of all my names, even R0my's (with his stupid zero), but these are my personal favorites:
Domatora- I was honestly shocked that name had not been taken when I created my Xweetok. Shocked, I say.
Dratsan- I came up with it on the spur of the moment during the rush to adopt a Cybunny. I like it because his nickname is "Drats," and he's got the personality of an annoying little bugger, so everytime you see him approach, the first word to mind i... yeah.
Jahania- This one took some thought. I originally wanted to go for a Lion King-esque name (because the Bori reminds me of the style those lions are drawn in, for some bizarre reason), but of course, "Sarabi" and "Kiara" were already taken. So, I took two African names from a web site and strung them together. It theoretically means "dignity and purpose."
And, my newest baby:
Touboa- Not the prettiest name to look at, but it's so fun to say, IMO. It took me agest to come up with a spelling I was willing to stand for the rest of my Neopets career. He's named after my first pet ever, 2boa (whom I abandoned long ago).

I love finding the right name for a pet - even if they are going to be pounded.
I had a FFQ and I wanted the Buzz avi, so I created a Buzz and named it Panulirus_versicolor which is the latin name for a Queensland Lobster. (I painted the pet maraquan). He is still maraquan and someone must be very happy with him.
I created a green uni and called her Cloverdance, she is still in the pound.
I have created quite a few pets for different reasons and they all had good names, but I cannot think of any others.

My very first pet was named Rinsykul. Say it out loud
Most of my pets are adopted, and they all have pretty kewl names. GeckoMcYekko, Momo_Adashi, Morniaxia, RaggedyBabette, diokradio, and mushyoli. I got two hissies - Yamakagashi (name of an actual type of snake) from the pound, and Wytherwing from a PPTer.
I named a couple of yurbles Snicklegoober and CasanovaFrankenstyne, to eventually be painted Halloween and Pirate, respectively. Also made a couple of Xweetoks - Furudanuki and Kitsunezaru. The former means 'old badger' and the latter means 'lemur', so I'm not sure yet which one I'm going to make a mutant. And finally, the last pet I made was a Lutari, so I named her Quorly, after an otter character in a book.
This brings me to this idea I had. Recently I made this huge list of cool names I looked up in a bunch of my books and searched them to see if they exist. A lot of them don't. Since it would be impossible and terribly selfish of me if I made all these pets and kept them for myself, I was wondering if it would be a good idea if I made these pets and put them in the pound for people to find. I think it would be nice to find more pets in the pound that have better names than 'gloria123400_3', 'wijifdh', or 'lennythemoron66'. My friend says it would be better for the people making their own pets to be able to use those names if they think of them. What do you think?

I'm something of a name-nazi, actually. I'm very much obsessed with having well-named pets and very strict about what I consider is a "good" name.
So this thread is just what I needed to spazz in.
I'm not sure everyone would agree that my pets are well-named, but I like them (and I've pounded the ones I'm unsatisfied with):
Zonf the eyrie is probably the best name I've ever managed.
Lontha the lutari comes in second.
Merelea the zafara - even though it's longer, I like the sound quite a lot.
Rauv the lupe is my most recent pet. :3
Mozot the shoyru...probably the least well-named, yet I'm far too attached to him to let him go. Plus I spent a bundle on his paintjob and matching petpet. x_x

The only pet I've ever made and thus named is Jammy_Tammy who started out as a Kacheek but is a poogle now.
But my favorite pet is Damolie an acara I adopted when I first started playing. He's my favorite pets and I think has an awsome name.
I also have two chias. Cawpo I adopted as a chia and labbed till she became a Lime.
My current lab pet is blueberry_4969 a blue chia who I fully intend to lab till she (or maybe he by that time) becomes a blueberry. Then I think her name will be cool but it's kind of boring right now.
But I think the rest of my pets have great names. Damolie is definitely the best name I think.

I would think that you should leave the pet names there. Even if someone wanted to get a cool pet name from the pound, it might take them weeks of poring through the pound to find the specific name. Not worth it to help people out. Also, if someone tried to name their pet whatever cool name you have, and it was taken by a pet in the pound, TNT would not tell the person that there is a pet with that name in the pound, so please choose another. Know what I mean?

I agree. I wouldn't mind naming a girl (human) that. That's not too bad.
Zombie wrote:I'm not sure everyone would agree that my pets are well named, but I like them
Everyone has their own tastes. Mixing them is the purpose of this thread. Feel free to post names that you wished you had named your pet if you think that those are better than the names that you currently have.

Well, my favourite name of all time that I've created isn't actually the name of a pet, but the name of my side account, which is Sulynne. I've always loved the name Sulyn for a girl but it was taken =( Sulynnewas the next best thing...much better than the name of my main account ^^
As for pets, the most recent Lab pet I created was
Alaeniane, which isn't the prettiest name to look at, but I love saying it

Ah-len-y-ann.
Then, my oldest created pet is
Zebzibah who will always and forever be one of my favourites

I love my wee Zebbie.
Another name I like is
Quinlan_Finn because Quinlan and Finn are two Irish names I love, and they sound pretty good together.
And my last pet, Casaliedan. To me it sounds a sort of Knights-horses name sort of thing, so I might morph him to Uni and paint him Royal or something. Either that or Baby because they are adorable.
And my worst ever name I've ever made. Donananana. As you can tell, *someone* was getting a little frustrated during Hissi day

My main account is idontlikemondays, as I was for some strange reason listening to the song by Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats at the time and I couldn't think of anything better. My first pet was thus named siliconchip after a lyric in that song. After much poundsurfing I now have...
siliconchip - originally an eyrie but currently a shadow xweetok. Anything robot would match his name best I suppose, let's see what the lab gives me.
amandriae - adopted from the pound, originally a red acara but I couldn't stand the sight of her so she's a green uni until I'm finished zapping siliconchip. I'd like to see her a grey uni, however again I might take a fancy to whatever the lab does to her. It's a bit of a girly name and would probably suit faerie, however I like my pets a bit more mean than that :p
otterus - a red lutari. A very silly but apt name, couldn't believe it wasn't already taken. Got him when they last released lutaris, he was one of the last few hundred.
My first account was datadragon (62 months old, wow...

) and on it are DragonWick27 and Lupine27. Not bad if a bit newbish. ^_^;

im not big on short names, but i do love to be creative
on my main, I have 3 I created, Grastler, Stratofire, and Torastane, and Waihola, who I adopted at ppt.
and on my various sides, my cool pet names are Dorinostera, Torabalist, Blizzario, Orialux, Deryleryl, Letomol (adopted), Orishala (adopted) Dark_Troubabour, Mantalistax, Stigmick, Terrorflash, Zacallaster, and Maliatromose
there are others too, but only a few

I don't make a lot of pets, but I think a lot on their names.
Many many years ago I created a shoyru. (More than 5 years!) It looked like a cute baby dragon to me, so I named it Ildrakor. Unfortunately, it's been labbed, so it's a silly uni at the moment. But I have a shoyru transmogrification potion to turn him back!
I also made Thimblefluff the pteri way back when. Pteris always struck me as very tiny looking, so "Thimblefluff" made sense.

My best pet name is one I can't list here as it is such a clever play on a 4-letter word that begins with "f", I'm afraid that TNT would be in on my little joke and freeze my account. If you are fairly literate and happen to come upon it randomly, you'd think it the most clever pet name ever as well. It involves a non-English word meaning 'fake', contains the word 'king' and is a common expression in some parts of the US but that's about the only hints I can give. *sigh* And it's so funny.
Aside from that one pet, Mister_Limpet the koi (frozen) was nice and I just love my SkippyButtstinger the Tyrannian Skeith and BigPoppaFunk the Disco Grarrl! I just adopted a pet named blackromeo which was a surprise to find any pet without numbers in the name in the pound.

Hinote no Ketsuki the Vaeolus - Hinote means blaze, no means from, and Ketsuki means rise above. Fitting for a Phoenix-looking Petpet methinks. Of course, I could have messed up the Japanese so it actually means something quite different..
Maia the Halloween Mazzew - Maia was an ancient goddess associated with magic.
Gula the Harris - The word koala comes from the word gula in an older aboriginal language.
I forgot what exactly I named my Huggy (Piyara I think) when I was aging it, but it was something from Sanskrit or Hindi meaning hug or embrace.
