UPDATE: The freezing/stalling problems have been fixed. Thank you to The Phantom Orange Shirt Guy, Mr. Insane and anyone else who worked on it. :)

Is anyone here having problems with any flash games on the Neo site? Stuff like the game running slower than normal, freezing up, anything? And I'm not talking just today; I know many people have been having problems for a couple months now. If you have, please be detailed about what's wrong. I'll start:

I haven't been able to play Faerie Bubbles in months. The game itself runs fine, but between levels, it will freeze up (and computer memory usage shoots way up while it's frozen). At first it just freezes for a second, but the freezing time gets longer and longer as I play, finally giving me a "flash is running slowly and may become unstable/do you want to abort this script" thing around level 9. If I don't abort, the whole game crashes around level 10. I thought it was just my older computer acting up, but I had two friends with better computers test, and although their problems weren't as severe, the same thing did happen.

From an IDB poster:

Quote:
Has anyone played "Moon Rock Rampage" lately? I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed that the game score animation freezes the game to the point that you cannot move. This started happening a few months ago.
I used to grab a quick 3K NP a day without a hitch. It used to play just fine, then one day stinkaroo. When I grab one of the space ship pieces, the Gorix or Cylara freeze.

So... anyone else?

For the last 3 or 4 days, Splat-a-Sloth is not giving out correct scores.

Splatting it above the eyes was sometimes scoring lower than hitting below the eyes. High scoring shots sometimes are not getting registered.

Faeriebubbles has slowed down today.
It was ok a couple of hours ago, but now it is extremely slow between levels.

Feed Florg: http://www.neopets.com/games/feedflorg2.phtml
Heavy slowdown pretty quickly, unlike many games where the slowdown can take 20 minutes to notice on a high-end gaming computer.

Survey Shack: Majority Rules: http://www.neopets.com/games/globalmark ... ame2.phtml
Do the "Take a Survey" option, do it 3 times, and you'll notice the curtains will hardly move, and if you play the game itself, it takes a long time to display the questions and accept answers.

Survey Shack: Super Daily Survey: http://www.neopets.com/games/surveyshack/game1.phtml
Drop one ball. Notice instant slowdown. Weep. Note that this slowdown does not happen in any of the other drop ball games until a long time of play has occurred.

Berry Lucky Charms: Triple Track: http://www.neopets.com/games/luckycharms/game1.phtml
Play through the first round and you'll notice every +5 or +20 note makes the game slightly slower. Becomes impossible to play in the second round.

These are extreme examples. In Faerie Bubbles, Turmac Roll, Ultimate Bullseye, Kou-Jong, Moon Rock Rampage, etc., it can take 15 or more minutes of heavy play and restarts (but not reloading the Flash window) before I notice even a little slowdown.

I thought it was only me...

zurroball : slower than usual

jolly juggler : "Freeze" for a second after every shot attempt

is it because the adobe flash player instead of macromedia flash player (i don't know since when adobe buy macromedia...)

None of those work for me... :( It's been like that for a 'lil more than two weeks now...

Notice how all of us have a different set of bugged games.

I've had some strange things going on, I don't know if its related. Random things such as that one daily inquiry game (dunno which one, maybe Aly & AJ) was not submitting my scores saying that I already submitted my max 3 while it was clearly after 9 GMT +1 (so new Neoday). Later, I think next hour at 10 GMT+1, it worked fine though and my other dailies also worked just fine even inquiries (click through ones, you know).

Also, one odd thing I've had is the following: I play WoM and then another game not full screen. The window with WoM is not minimized and WoM spins fine, but the game I play as well severely lags. Almost unplayable! Now, when I minimize WoM it works fine again. So while this may be an issue (Flash related?) this doesn't seem to be Neopets related to me. Also, in some games (a bit of) lag may be useful, in some not.

Huggles his/her post also reminded me about Whack-A-Kass it is obvious the audio and video are not in sync. I hear the sounds are made approx 1 sec later. Now, I usually put sounds off anyway as they irritate the hell out of me, but, with Whack-A-Kass that is not possible. It is also true with Pterattack, when I shut off sound in the game, the sound made to indiciate the audio is off comes slightly too late lets say half a second. With DD where you also cannot put the sounds off I have this too sometimes, not always. I'm not sure why this sometimes happens, but I doubt this particular issue is Neopets related since the game once it runs runs in Flash on your computer. For example, you could load Pterattack, unplug Internet, play it, plug Internet, submit score. Usually I just put sound off in the game, put my boxes off, put my boxes sound lower while Winamp higher, or alternatively use my second soundcard. No audio means more or less peace to me, better focus. Esp if its not synced.

PS: I'll see if I can find relations between CPU or RAM, but I have an Athlon 3000+ (Venice) and 1 GB RAM, about half in use most of the time. So that should be no issue!

I can barely play warf team rescue. It still has the same glitch it's had since day one, where the warfs will eventually fall behin each other regardless of whether or not they land directly on top of each other. But now it's also got the added fun of freezing for 4 or 5 seconds every 20. What-A-Kass has been changed, but I'm not sure if it's deliberate or not. A couple months ago, maybe, it started taking a long time to register clicks. Clicking the play button or clicking on the screen to make the turtum move faster often ends with it restarting and kass falling before the bat registers.

Ultimate Bullseye was running slow a couple weeks ago, but seems to be okay now. I've never had problems with Faerie Bubbles though.

ALL games, for me, on Firefox AND MSIE, will lag, given enough time (usually by restarting the game in the window itself). ALL. Some of the mentioned ones take me nearly a half hour to notice the slightest lag - others may discount this as no lag at all. It would surprise me if it was anything other than "all Flash games lag eventually for everyone, but not everyone has a window up and moving for long enough dependent on their RAM, browser, and overall computer background activity level".

Yes, it's definitely worse for me if I have a game window open for a while. My first few plays of Volcano Run will be fine, for example, but it starts to slow down/freeze for a second if I keep playing without closing out the flash window and restarting. That's okay; at least I can play and it doesn't bother me much. I can't play Faerie Bubbles, Whack-A-Kass, or Meerca Chase (1) at all because they freeze up immediately, or at least before I can send any scores.

My computer locks up when I play other games which use DirectX or OpenGL such as Enemy Territory or Warcraft 3. In ET, the game will use 100% CPU. When it locks up I quickly press ctrl+alt+del getting system monitor then when I wait it will be normal again. This solution really plays on my serves though. WC3 will lock up completely in the beginning when I play the first level. Unplayable. Its probably my video card, and I've ordered a replacement. It could also be faulty RAM though. Its not the HDD.

Perhaps it makes sense to post what kind of soft- and hardware is in your computers. Because a game crashing, is Flash, and Flash runs local not on Neopets. Your browser downloads the Flash game from Neopets and submits the score both done over the Internet but the playing itself, is local. Maybe you could try running the SWF file in Flash Player itself and seeing if it locks up then. Just one of the many possibilities, suggestions...

I forgot to specify the problems with the games that are bugged. The game does not start at all. It says that it is done loading down at the bottom left corner of the window, but the screen stays white.

Hmm, games that aren't working for me include:

Faerie Bubbles slows waaay down if I have it open for more than..6 levels, then I get the flash error message
SS: Daily Survey too slow to even be playable
Meerca Chase (1) flash can quit on me but I figure that's because it's old.

Today both Ultimate Bullseye and Turmac Roll both caused internet explorer to close, this has happened before, but it's much more rare.

Lately it seems like about 90% of action flash games slow down to an unbearable level if the window is open too long. I never really have problems playing games in any other cateogry.

EDIT: Oh, and Defender Trainer, that game has the most frustrating glitch when moving targets come up. Sometimes the thing they ask you for isn't there, sometimes it's there, but they pretend it's not what they asked for. I can't play that game anymore because I lose all my lives on nonsense questions.

Update for Faeriebubbles. I re-booted and the game is back to normal speed.

Well, at least it's not me!

Games lagging for me:

Whack a Ghost (it's so bad, sometimes it sits at the graveyard with nothing popping up after only 20 of the 30 seconds of the levels

Majority Rules.

Warf Rescue

Freaky Factory

Also getting the "A script is causing... run slow" error, often.

Another glitch, unmentioned so far, is that in Majority Rules, sometimes the % are all screwed up (like, they add up to 300% or so? LOL) and the totals that add on are all messed up, really tiny amounts, and in decimals!!
