Here is my prediction: Neopets makes a really corny movie, which doesn't accurately depict anything at all what the site is like. They make neopets look either really babish, or perhaps even better than it is, but I am aiming towards a really weird babyish movie. I don't see what it would be about really. They have a lot of New Member visiting the site for a while, but none of them stay long, because it isn't what they expected it to be. The oldbies hang around for a while, but are teased by people for playing "That stupid neopets site," more people end up leaving neopets, until it is basically just New Member and probably new staff. It warps into something really stupid forcing more people to leave. Neopets goes downhill after that, and then they close the site down due to lack of interest.
Well anyway, I'll probably hang around for a while, at least until they change my pets or something. I might hang around until the end, I am already teased by people for playing, and it hasn't stopped me yet. So I don't know. I mean, pokemon went out of style after the movie, but it stil has fans. I think they are even making a few new games about it. It is just that the people who play the games still, don't nessessarily want a movie about it or even trading cards.

I think the battling system for the last war would have been OK (not GREAT but just ok) if all ranks could have battled all opponents for differing amounts of points. An example would be
rank 1 vs:
rank 1 = 25
rank 2=50
rank 3=100
rank 2 vs:
rank 1 = 10
rank 2 = 25
rank 3 =50
ranks 3 vs:
rank 1 = 1
rank 2=10
rank 3=25

Ooooh! I would love a Haunted Woods plot! Especially if it's around Halloween.

I'm excited.
Although I've never been involved in a war, if it is one I know I'll suck. XD Oh well I'll still try to have fun.
smudgeoffudge, oh man I hope that doesn't happen! ;_; But I can definitely see it happening. Neopets is already crawling with (the N word), and they've already turned it into a little kids game when it was originally made for collage students. >.>

*Thinking* Perhaps they'll do a thing where the comical style Haunted woods neopets are threatened by real undead or something.

Based on what I have seen from the trading cards there is a city called Neovia, which I think of as the neopian version of Transilvania. In Neovia it is very gloomy and rainy, the city has ruined areas or at least some bad neighborhoods and dark allys, but it wasn't always like that. There are a group of pets living in a large mansion. One is a goody two shoes type lupe, another is a blue gelert. I think there is a skeith there too. The decide to explore the mansion or they perhaps explore the town. I am not sure what they do, but they mess with something they shouldn't, Then something goes very wrong in the city, with zombies and vampires and stuff running amok, and the blue gelert guy gets transformed into an ugly version of himself.

anyone know what the precise values were for the ranking levels? i need to figure out whether i should lab my pet down to keep it a nice rank 1
Fri Sep 15, 2006 8:35 pm
I don't think level was calculated, and labbing would only increase the stats that we know for sure were counted, strength and hp. To give you some sort of idea of how screwy it was, I used my lab pet who had about 450 hp and the 200 strength boost or close to it. In previous wars, with my 250 hp 125 strength pet, I averaged around 2000 pts. In that one, I got 35. But the war before that was almost as bad, because my 1900 points earned me the same prize as someone with 0. Or was it 5? Anyway, it was completely ridiculous and I'm pretty sure I didn't even get a weapon.
I honestly cannot say that I'd ever want another war given how screwed up they've been. The plots and puzzles since have been fantastic, but there's no telling just how much of the ingenuity they applied to those will continue on into a war. I've long since sold all of my weapons, and I'm dirt poor to boot, so it's highly likely the next war will be perfect and I'll still get next to nothing wielding my almighty dual scarab rings.

Well, if they get prizes and the battle parts up to scratch, I'd really like another war. I've been pining for one - plots are all I come to neopets for anymore, really.
What would be neat is a world war. You could pick which team you'd want to fight for, even if there wouldn't be that many sides. Hehe. Okay, so there'd have to be a reason, and that's unlikely to happen in neopia, but hey.
Can't wait for the next war. Itching for it, hoping that TNT has learned from their mistakes. T_T

I think its a little early for a world war considering weve been finding worlds at an alarming rate recently and the fact that we just had a world event "Altador Cup". So itll be atleast a year if at all on the world war

Well umm.. war sounds good

Based on what King Altador says, it will be another plot much like the LDP....i'm guessing Haunted Woods around Halloween.
Sat Sep 16, 2006 2:19 am
Altador smiles. "I hope that suffices. I regret that we couldn't provide more choice, but as I said, things are still a bit chaotic around here. And after all, this wasn't on the scale of what happened to the Lost Desert, or what will soon be happening in--" He stops. "Ahem. Nevermind."
More confirmation on a Haunted Woods plot.

I was wondering, if perhaps, someone could explain to me exactly what you do in a war?! I was probably on neo last time there was one, but I just didn't really used to pay much attention.
Should I start training pets? What should I train them with? Should I invest in good items? etc.

A war is generally lots of fights against various leveled one-player battledome opponents. You usually earn points for defeating opponents, and earn more for stonger opponents.

I hope they don't have another war . . . wars are kinda boring in that all you do is fight. I hope it's another puzzle thing like the Lost Desert plot, that was fun

Hopefully not as frustrating as certain parts of the Altador plot was, as well (coughwaterplantcough). A Haunted Woods plot sounds fun. The atmosphere will certainly make it interesting.
