Personally, I just raised a brow and went on reading. :P It's Neopets. Few things make sense.

Au contrare, the humans are providing them "money" and free food n' board (check out the stuff they eat! sure, some are unspeakably nasty, but you can't tell me you haven't drooled over some of the pictures), not to mention toys, musical instruments, their own pets, books, give them expensive makeovers (potions, paintbrushes), take them to concerts and fancy restaurants, and give them expensive training. ;) Methinks they got it pretty good, at least a good portion do, and we, as the humans, are in fact the slaves. (*is completely aware that a lot of people, her included, don't do that much*)

Rakumel wrote:Whine all you want about Usuls, but I see that there's yet ANOTHER Aisha and ANOTHER Lupe that appear to be either main or secondary characters in a plot. I'm far more tired of seeing them crop up constantly. Yeah, yeah, I'm sure they're probably the most popular pets and are included to appeal to wider audiences, blah blah blah, but come on. There's plenty of other species in Neopia to use. We all loved (to make fun of) the Foreman, so how about another Yurble? A Cybunny? An Eyrie? A Lenny? An Elephante? Or better yet, take smudge's suggestion and have a reptilian or amphibian hero at least once. Wouldn't mind seeing a Hissi or Nimmo take the lead, personally.

LAQ wrote:On the downside... NOT USULS AGAIN. ;__;

*Sigh* I have to agree. Lupes are all over the place when it comes to plots. Same with Aishas, Usuls and Gelerts. I have no problem with the same species being included over and over again... but it gets slightly repetive. Is there ever going to be a plot starring a less popular pet as it's main character? o.O

Chalk one up for short term memory ehh?

WAY back during the discovery of the Lost Desert, we were introduced to a royal family of Acaras, Lupes and Aishas or whatever.

Nothing to see here, move along :P

I am the same way. My first plot involved the scrolls....(shudder)....

Never done a war plot.

War plots are a lot more straightforward than regular ones. Every week or so, a new 1-player BD challenger will be released. People fight it as much as they can to earn points. The easiest ones are worth 1 point each, then 2, 3, and after that probably multiples of 5, so 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250. The simplest war in recent history was Battle for Meridell (that was the Kass one, not to be confused with Champions of Meridell, which is generally considered to be the best war ever). Eevryone was on the same side, but the easiest challengers were too easy, and people made thousands of points just beating them over and over (origin of the term 'spider squishing'). To remedy that, TNT put a ranking system on the Maraqua war, making people with certain stats battle different enemies for the same amount of points. It failed miserably. In another type of war, people will be allowed to choose sides, and then the side with the highest amount of points "wins" the war. Usually the good guys win in such a war, but Darigan won once.

I hope that wasn't too complicated. If this does turn out to be a war, you'll understand what to do.

lol but there is another way

Presumably the happy-go-lucky elixer will turn everyone into ZOMBIES.

May I remind you that ZOMBIES are actually the third force in the great PIRATE - NINJA - ZOMBIE alliance of evil.

And Phinneus the Lenny was a central character to the Altador plot, no? Sure the ruling council of Altador was all lupes and aishas and all the cool kids, but the lennies.... the lennies actually knew what was going on.

They did.

They know what's going on this time too.

Lennys do tend to be the intelligent ones, huh. Good observation, eh.

In regards to the whole, "How does a Skeith have a Gelert and Lupe as children?" issue, I'd also like to point out that there is a Zafara in the family too...or at least I think that's a Zafara swooning on the couch in the first page of the comic...And there's another pet that I can't identify, as we only see her back... So yeah, it's Neopets. It shouldn't have to make sense.

As for the fighting...I'm really interested to see exactly how TNT will get us fighting because this IS just a story so far. I'm suspicious of those gypsies...

Speaking of the gypsies, the storyteller is an Elephante, and he seems to play a *pretty* big role in this story (probably about the same level as the Usul). Though I WOULD like to see some more Hissis, Meercas, and other pets people have forgotten about (such as Zafaras) because of their lack of famous folks in the world of Neopets.

I really hope there's another war, I'm getting sick of all these puzzles, especially since i don't have the time to do every step (lost desert.. *shudder*)

For the whole stereotypical thing:

I know how you all feel. It's always the cute pets that are the heroes. The only remotely unpopular pet I've seen in a plot that is a hero was the bruce(I may have forgotten something, but you get the picture) in the Brucey B plot, and they're somewhat cute(Bruces ROCK). I'd like to see the day when the hero is like, a grarl or jubjub or something....

For the "How do Skeiths have Gelerts?" thing:

These are my my theories:
Theory #1: Neopets are born from eggs
I mean, the "Create a Pet" sign in the corner DOES have an egg on it. And nobody ever said they weren't from eggs. Yes, they are mammalian looking, but I'm just throwing around ideas.

Theory #2: Faeries create the pets
Well, they are powerful. Why wouldn't they be able to make a pet? They heal them, curse them, bless them, ect. Could be...

Theory #3: They just appear
In the neopedia lookup for Sloth, it says that there was like lightning or something and the neopets just, well, appeared all confused looking. The parents may just go to that spot(create a pet center) and get what they get. That you just get a random pet. How else could a skeith make a gelert....

I'm really looking forward to the plot. It's gonna be fun! But the 2nd page of my comic won't load. Stupid dial-up....What happens in the 2nd page?

That was a truly excellent description of the War Plots! *thunderous applause* Thank you for putting it up!

I was so excited to see that little notice in the news and then to see the new gypsy camp in the Haunted Woods! I'm still rather hoping this turns out to be a puzzle plot or a combo of puzzle and war. :D In fact, I have to admit it-- I really loved the Lost Desert Plot!

I liked trying to figure stuff out early each time and struggling to get it done quickly-- I hope this one measures up to it. The only part I hated was wating for days before the next piece was available to us. But as crazy as it was, I had a blast. And the prizes were rockin. The Altador mini plot truly paled by comparison, though it was a nice diversion between big events. Wish the final prizes had been better though.

Also, I agree with you guys and Jocelyn about the stereotypical pets that are the heros and villains. Be nice if they mixed that up a bit more for sure.

Did I not suggest a western-themed world as well as an oriental-themed world in that one post a long time ago? I'm so good XD.

But I'm loving this new plot.

Everyone grumbling about wich pets have been included in plots. Made me wonder. Has a draik ever played a main role in a plot? I mean they are quite a popular pet to aren't they?

How can a skeith have a gelert as a kid? Easy, adoption. The skeith obviously dipped dangerously low into his savings to pay for the adoptions and now hes poor (although adopting in neopets doesnt cost much, hmm).

?

I would really like to se a Flotsam as the main charcter in a plot.
Also Im hoping for a war type plot as it gives me a chance to show off my favorite pet.
Of course its always fun to try and figure out a Mystery type plot and they usually have a more engaging story, but they're alot harder.
