I remember seeing a list of how all the species of pets were pronounced. But I can't seem to find it anymore and don't care to search all day. Any PPTers happen to know where such a list is? By searching I found one entry for Mynci, but in particular I was looking for the sound file for Acara.

Thanks in advance.

As a sidenote: from the looks of it, it hasn't been updated to include the newer pets (Ogrin and Gnorbu)

*Smacks forehead.* That was way too easy. Thanks! :D

EDIT: I think Ogrin and Gnorbu might have been mentioned in an Editorial a while back, but that page was what I was looking for. Thanks again. :)

Ogrin and Gnorbu are generally simple. What I'd like to know how to pronounce is the Xweetoks (or however you spell it).

I like the new neopet Xweetok, but I have no idea how to pronounce it's name...
The ultra-fabulous designer of the pet says it's pronounced "Zwee-tock." We will update the pronunciation page shortly. :)

Hehe, "shortly" ;)

I always pronounce it 'Sweetolk' - almost 'Sweet Talk'

The name Xweetok always reminded me of those bland baby cookie wafers. Zwieback I guess they are called. Just seems funny to me, lol.

I used to pronounce Xweetok as "X-wee-tock", meaning that I say out the X. But now I pronounce it as "Sweetok", thinking that pronouncing it in the other way seems abit...weird. But I still have that silly habit of saying "X-wee-tock"...argh.

Ah. Makes sense. Then I've been pronouncing it correctly all this time. Huzzah!

I refuse to pronounce Mynci as "min-see." It's a monkey, so I pronounce it "MEEN-key." It just suits it better, durnit! I was right about most of the other ones, though (except Gelert and Eyrie). How is Gnorbu pronounced, anyway? I say "GNOR-boo."

Do you pronounce the G? I'm guessing the G is probably silent, ie. "Norr-boo" or "Naw-boo" :)

The one I get confused with is "Aisha". I always go to pronounce it "ay-sha", and then remember that it's not meant to be pronounced that way and say "ay-eee-sha" instead (which isn't right either).

I pronounce the 'g' like the 'g' in 'gnocci' is pronounced -- it's just barely there. I'm not as good at the 'kn' or 'cn' sound though; I say k(uh)nish instead of knish. Aisha's easy for me b/c I had a friend in high school who pronounced it that way. I've been pronouncing gelert with a hard g, but it does make more sense as a 'j' sound -- but I like it the other way. And I've been saying EYE-ree instead of whatever they recommend...

Almost. XP It's NOR-boo. The g's entirely silent. XP

I think they mentioned it in the news when the pet was first released. =3

I don't find myself saying neopet species out loud very often... or ever come to think of it ;)
