HW Plot Part: Sophie's lab (Split #4)

I'm sure I got everything right: Here, I made a screenie:



These are my targets, you can see in the screenie that I got everything right...

Composite #1:

Special: Anti-Gravitic Goo
Quantity: 10 grams

Composite #2:

Special: Spectral Essence
Quantity: 23 grams
Relevant property: Conjuring
Target value: +275 +/- 1

Composite #3:

Quantity: 12 grams
Relevant property: Conjuring
Target value: +67 +/- 2
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +103 +/- 2

Is this is glitch, should I sent in a bug report to TNT?

I *suspect* that if you are at the very outside of your range, there's a chance your average is actually farther out and it just rounded down. So if you need 200 within 1, and you had 201.4, then it would count it as being outside but still show as being in range. That's why you need to be as exact as humanly possible.

I'm in the same boat as you that had the unfortunate encounter with the glitch. Everything was right and I still got the black goo. So irritating! I just finished making everything again but I'm so afraid to throw it in again...

I suspect that perhaps Enchantment can't be a negative number.... That's what all you guys struggling have in common

My Conjuring and Enchantment are flipped though.

They are. But they both fall within the range that the formula will work for.

That would mean my second composite is wrong, because it's the only one that's not spot on.

Does anyone know any methods for this composite:

Composite #2:

I used this: 21 g Bloodfern Soaked and Crushed to max.
2 g Leafy Slorgblossom - Soaked to max, then Crush to max and Dessicated until I got get to 25.

The thing is, other used this method and got it right, so why wouldn't it work for me?

So, I could use a little assistance. I'm happy to be PMed if posting on this thread isn't cool.

I need to make the Spectral Essence at 23 grams, with Conjuring at 275 +- 1.

Problem is, I can't figure out how to get that.

23g * 275 is 6325, which is less than maxed out for the loam.

Anyway, do I have to have the bloodfern totally cooked? Or can I only do it up to a certain point?

This is what I did:

5 grams of Leafy Slorgblossom soaked to the max, then crushed to the max, and finally dessicated to the max. This will give you a conjuring value of +32

20 grams of Bloodfern Loam crushed to the max (+390) then soaked until conjuring is at +311. Do not soak the Bloodfern Loam to the max as this will drop conjuring down to +300, which is too low.

Uhm...isn't that 25? (Thanks anyway, just figured out hte math, should be 3g of leafy)

Finished recipy for a Divination 300 / Enchantment 300 composite:

1g Baabaa Wool: Burn + Dry to max (should be D600/E600)
1g Bronze Sansam: Crush + Soak to max (should be D510/E360)
1g Sharp Grass: Crush to max (should be D60/E60)
1g Bloodfern: Dry to max (should be D330/E360)
1g Jurpleberry: Burn until 120 Enchantment (NOT MAX) (should be D0/E120)

I have to admit, I am scared to throw stuff into the pot.. especially after hearing all of the goo horror storis. I know I can get the ssence and goo deal but its the middle composite that has me upset and frightened.

I had:

Spectral Essence
Quantity: 25 grams

Enchantment: +13
Power: +373

Miscellaneous Composition
Quantity: 12 grams
Conjuring: +115
Divination: +131
Enchantment: +81
Power: +80

Edit: I just read back. Guess I must've had 79.9 or something

Augh! That wasn't right. I must have put in the wrong components. Let me try that one again...

I tried using wool and jurple berries and two other items and I was one number off for each. But I got the bubbling black goo, does anyone have any ideas for me? I really dont wanna fail again

ARgh! I too am afraid to toss mine in case all my hours of work go down the drain. If anyone is brave enough to do it, please let me know how it goes
