Ooh, I love the trailer.

I hate Harry's haircut, though. :( I mean, I didn't really like the longer hair too much, but if Daniel wanted to go shorter, he could've had it cut better.

The 5th movie looks awesome! :O Harry's haircut is horrible, though. I thought it looked MUCH better when he had long hair... :( I'm still so excited though! I can't wait to see it.

*gag* The haircut is horrible and makes Dan look like an uber dork. Bring the long hair back pronto for movie 6 cause his hair now looks like ... well im not going to say it..

But I totally got all excited when Harry kisses Cho in the traile :P

I saw the HBO preview, and there are thestrals. Whether they figure into the plot the same way remains to be seen - all we saw of them were WETA-esque sketches. (And heard a Luna voiceover - Evanna Lynch IS perfect.) In fact, the techies have a WETA complex straight through, which is very refreshing after the cracked-out PoA crap (bridge excluded). Actually, the sketch of Grawp looks disturbingly like the cave troll with bigger ears, but nothing can make me like Grawp, so I don't care.

And the HBO preview has plenty of shots of the Veil Room, including Bella mid-duel and Lucius holding the orb - it's pre-edit, though, and they're going to need to computer-generate bits, but it's stuff they could do without looking fakey back in the '80s. And it's only spoileriffic to people who have already read the book, but MAN does it brush up.

Anyway, acting. Bella is perfect, doubly so given that her nose is much wider, her skin is much paler, and her hair is much frizzier than mine - Bonham-Carter is the most versatile actor I have ever witnessed, as she also played Ophelia and the Corpse Bride to a tee. Imelda Staunton isn't as syrupy as I would like, but she's still very Umbridge-like, down to her height - I just wonder what's with that shot where she's fleeing in panic through the O.W.L. testing center (I assume that's what it is by the desk arrangement). Gary Oldman is directed with the right sort of authoritative melancholy - so he's not limited to sociopath and raving loon, which Cuaron failed to pick up, and actually resembles Sirius. Michael Gambon is still overly aggressive for Dumbledore, but his canonical subtlety in the courtroom scene probably wouldn't transfer well to the screen, at least as far as most teenage casual fans are concerned. Anyway, I sort of enjoy him righteously snarling at the Wizengamot.

Also, the score isn't John Williams, but it doesn't sound as bland as Doyle's, either, quite dramatic, in fact, and may even be improved without the big-name watermark.

Why the heck isn't this director staying on for HBP? He's a genius! Was he exposed as a werewolf or what?

People, this will be a good Harry Potter movie.

I can't recall exactly where I saw the article. It detailed how Emma wasn't sure on whether or not she was going to continue as Hermione for the last two films. I haven't checked on any more information for any updates or such. It should be a good film. That is the bad thing which you must expect when turning a book into a film. The Directors and such don't get everything right. Even the most obvious of things!!! Especially when it comes to Harry's eye color.... supposed to be that of his mother's however Daniel's are not the same. eh oh well.

Were all of the professional movie hairdressers on strike for the last few films or something? Well, they've made up for it now.

It actually looks like it'll be quite good...shockingly enough. I haven't liked most of the Harry Potter films, but I'm going to be optimistic this time around.

I saw the trailer when I went to see Happy Feet and I thought it looked so cool....can't wait to see it:).

Yes, apparently, Emma is a really bright girl and has gotten high marks on her exams (I'm not sure what exams are taken in the UK, perhaps something equivilant to SATS/LSATS?). And she's said that she would like to go to University, and if she wants too, I'd say let her do it. But I'm really going to miss her if she does!

She should definately go on to University if she wants.. on the other note I don't know how the last two films will do without her there.. She is such a central Character. I'll watch them with out without her though; she would be missed.

I confess, I find Emma Watson thoroughly annoying. Something about her just rubs me the wrong way. Irrational, yeah, but I can't deny that I'm a little happy that she might be leaving.

Good for her for wanting to continue her education! Hooray for being educated while not annoying me! :D

She's an actress, not a character. They'll recast the part--it's not as if they haven't before. :)

Oh wow. I'm pretty excited for it. Bellatrix wasn't really how I had pictured her, but that's alright.

Wed Dec 13, 2006 10:46 pm

I am aware of the fact that she is an actress and not a character. I was trying to point out that when a Character role is filled by an actor for sometime; and then replaced with another actor for any reason.. it loses interest to me.

New Trailer!

I just watched the newest Order of the Phoenix trailer. In one word: wow. Sure, I know I'll have a lot of things to nitpick... but upon first viewing this movie looks like its going to be amazing. They seem to have really captured the emotions of the book, political underpinings, AND keep it full of action. With Wit. ("Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?!" -- I love Ron.)

I'm pleased to see that they're leaving the twins exodus in the movie. So far, I'm satisfied. Its always great to go in with low expectations - more often than not you end up pleasantly surprized.
