Petpets Back in the Battledome?

I went into the battledome with Capi to fight an easy opponent so I could fully heal her without spending NP via a victory. The first thing I see when the battle begins is her petpet, Muco!

This is a huge image; I'm sorry. That's why I'm thumbnailing it.

The first screen shows the start of the battle with Muco, and tells me I can select him from the drop down menu to join in the fight. I did, but according to the second screen, he did absolutely nothing.

This is the first time in over a year that I've encountered this. I know this was once a (relatively) common occurance that was done away with before I even started playing Neopets, but I was wondering if this appearance tonight was a bug, or if TNT is perhaps rethinking their position on petpets in the battledome?

Wow!I'll go try it now with my L2 petpet.What level was your petpet?

He's only level 1. I stopped labbing him because I want to get the Mazzew avatar. That might explain why he did jack squat in the battle, though. :oops:

My level 2 petpet didn't apper in any of the 5 battles I did.

Well, I know that it was a rare occurrence even when it was a functioning option. I just tried one of my other pets, and her petpet failed to appear too.

It probably WAS a bug, but I wanted to see if anyone else had run into this recently.

Yeah, that did happen to me recently, actually. I was battling against Inflatable Balthazar to heal Drilax, and lo and behold his Phish was there. It was either level 2 or 3 at the time, and just out of curiosity I tried it as an option, but it didn't do anything. I knew it was an option once a long time ago, and that it got disabled, so yeah...kinda surprised to see that again. I'm guessing it's a bug. *shrug*

cool! my friend just had this happen and he did like 1 point of damage. and i don't think it's a glitch, i know it USED to be possible... think they're bringing it back? that would be cool

ah...so it was done away with. this article in the IDB had me wondering. Was the information right though? That your damage was multiplied?

Yeah, it's happened to me a few times lately. It didn't seem to do anything, but next time I'll pay more attention & see if it makes a difference.
